Today the PSP got an update in the form of firmware 3.72 which, at first glance, appeared insignificant with nothing more than further support for PlayStation Network titles. The EU PlayStation website, however, notes an interesting addition to the patch list. Namely, the inclusion of "Remote Start for the PS3" which, the patch list continues to state, requires firmware version 2.00 for the PS3.So firmware 2.00 is coming and, if this is any indication, it's coming soon. What will it contain? At this moment, there's nothing concrete except for Remote Start - which is a great feature, but we know that you guys are expecting so much more. We'll keep you up to date with any developments.

Who knows. All i want to know, from the writers, if they played HAZE and COD4. Which is the better buy? Gameplay wise, because i heard graphics for both are great. I want to know what gameplay online and OFFLINE are better?

I hear COD 4 is a Gears of War 4-5 hour marathon of a campaign. I gotta have it, but Haze may be deeper...

From a Danish PS3 site:
-Turn your PS3 on and off with PSP Remote play
-A new PLAYSTATION Network category
-A TV Category for those who install PlayTV into their HDD (SCEE only).
-Playlist for Music & Photo
-Content group for Video & Game
-XMB customization (Custom theme & background color setting)
This will come with one alternative custome theme. Addition generic themes will be available for download via www.playstation.com with game title themes to follow on Nov 20th, distributed via the Store (PS/PC). The cost of the game themes haven’t been decided yet. Guidelines for users to create their own Custom Themes will be distributed via www.playstation.com shortly after the firmware hits
-Information Board:
This will be shown in the top right of the screen and include news feeds from Playstation.com as well as store updates. The board came be set to ticker mode, list mode, details mode or disabled.
-Trend Micro Web Security for PS3™ internet browser:
This is a parental lock for website viewing that will initially be free but that Trend Micro will later charge for.
Pretty nice, no in-game XMB, but PlayTV for us Europan users :D

Jakob, all those points through that list were pointed out as nothing but RUMORS by Joystiq.
Nothing is confirmed yet.
Anyway, Sony isn't stupid beyond belief. Every ".0" update requires a huge addition, and they know if they dont make it happen, they'll drown in flames.
It the update they;ve been waiting for, as we have too, no doubt But nothing has been revealed yet.

Yeah know its rumors. But still it mentions the feature about the remote turn on/off control. The other rumors about 2.0 didn't mention it.
I think it's true, but not sure (of course)

Remote Start lets you turn on your PS3 from your PSP. Anywhere where you have a internet connection you can remotely connect to PS3 and watch videos and listen to music off your PS3, Now you don't have to leave your PS3 on as your PSP can turn your PS3 on.
Between now and the next 3 days I am 90% sure Playstation 3 Firmware 2.0 will be out.

The Blu-Ray Disc Association mandates that any Blu-ray player released after October 31st must support Blu-ray Profile 1.1
With the 40GB PS3 releasing on November 2nd it must support Blu-ray Profile 1.1 and there for we must get an update by the time it release.
So today or the next 3 days we should see a update with Blu-ray Profile 1.1 support.

@10: Because he's thinking the 2.0 firmware will drop Thursday, when we normally get fw updates. Especially since the PSP firmware update came first which usually doesn't happen.

Could be a lucky guess, since the feature was announced at TGS.

You misspelled "PlayStation Network"
I wouldn't consider myself a spelling nazi but this is the PS3 fanboy website, you'd think you could spell PlayStation right.
