Playlogic developing a new IP for the PS3

Playlogic, an independent games developer and publisher based in the Netherlands, have told UK trade magazine MCV that they are working on a new IP for the PS3. The game is still in the very early stages, but they are confident that it will be a worthy addition to the console's lineup. Playlogic have also made a promise to increase their presence within the UK thanks to successes in the region with Obscure II, Infernal and Xyanide Resurrection.

The in-house development studio is currently working on a Wii port of their survival horror title Obscure II as well as a new Simon the Sorcerer game for the PC (yes - we're excited too!), both of which will be out in the first quarter of 2008. Today's announcement marks the first time that Playlogic will have moved into the next generation and we're always happy to see developers jump onboard the PS3 bandwagon. We look forward to seeing what they come up with.

1. "The game is still in the very early stages"

In other words, don't count on seeing it in 2007, 2008 or even 2009. This is probably a spring 2010 game.

3. I apologize fellow fanboys, but shoot, I'm just in the dark on this one. But what the heck does IP stand for when described in the cases of a new game or product?

All that comes to my head is Internet Protocol and I know that's not it.

Thanks in advance for whoever can provide the meaning of this acronym. I'm just lost on that one, sorry.

6. Ok... Where's the news? Don't get me wrong (I'm all for more PS3 games), but who the hell knows what it is or IF the game will even get published. I'm just not going to hold my breath.
