Worldwide PS3 releases for the week of October 28

The Christmas season continues this week with another full list of game releases. While not quite as stellar as last week, this week is still a pretty good week for games and next week proves to be even better. Here's the full release list:

US Hardware
  • 40GB PS3 Spiderman 3 bundle
US Games
  • Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (again!)
  • Guitar Hero III
  • Stranglehold
  • Stranglehold Collector's Edition (Includes "Hard Boiled" movie)
  • The Simpsons Game
  • Cars: Mater-National Championship
EU Games
  • Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War
  • Tony Hawk's Proving Ground
  • NBA 2K8
  • NHL 2K8
Asian Games
  • Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
  • GI Jockey 4 2007
Ratchet and Clank's official release is this week, so those of you who haven't been able to find a retailer who got an early shipment won't have much longer to wait. Guitar Hero III is actually available today - as in, right now. So go get it!

Your PS3 is region free so feel free to import any of the above games. Having said that, however, we're intrigued to find out about Guitar Hero III's downloadable content will importers be able to download new tracks without an American credit card? If you know, we'd love to find out.

1. As an importer, as I don't live in any of the PSN countries, and user of the US PS Store, I can tell you that you can get an account (pretty much like you can get an European or Japanese account without living there) but you cannot buy ANYTHING without an American Credit Card (And even if the bank is an American Bank, you need an American Billing International Credit Cards on American banks will probably don't work either).

It would be nice if SCEA (like SCEJ did already) finally released the Pre-paid cards, as you could simply import a few of them and then you're in to pay for some stuff. Until then, importers of American games won't be able to purchase any of the DC available through the PS Store.

2. You know since its last gen or not a factor with the new PS3 sku, but could someone answer this question. Does the new PS3 Guitar Hero Les Pauls work with PS2 Guitar Hero 1 and 2??? Will it work with the PS2 games?

3. Guitar Hero I and II DO NOT work with the PS3 controller on the PS3.... it sucks, I know.

4. I have to disagree with Phoen above who said that you can't buy anything from the US PSN without a US credit card. I have bought several items there with my swedish Mastercard (or possibly my VISA, can't remember which one right now).

All I did was fabricate an adress in the US when I registered for the US PSN account, which feels good 'cause now I have 90210 as my postal code ;)
