American PSN update for October 25th

This is the post we've been waiting to write for months. Thursdays have been referred to as "screw over Europe" day in the PS3 Fanboy office for quite some time now, but finally we get to deliver some great news. The American PSN Store Update is worse than the European's. There, we said it. Here's the full release list:
  • EyeCreate PlayStation Eye application(free)
  • Spyro the Dragon PS1 game for PS3/PSP ($5.99)
  • Piyotama Halloween skin add-on (free)
  • Ninja Gaiden Sigma "Rachel Master" add-on ($2.99)
  • Bionic Commando trailer (free)
  • Time Crisis 4 trailer (free)
  • The Water Horse movie trailer (free)
  • P.S. I Love You movie trailer (free)
  • AC/DC Live at Donington Blu-Ray trailer (free)
  • Reign over me Blu-Ray trailer (free)
  • Eye of Judgment wallpapers (free)
  • Spider Man 3 Goblin add-on has had its price cut to $2.99
Overall, it's not terrible. At least there's a new PS1 game - and you thought Sony had forgotten about those. Now, if you'll excuse us, we're going to sneak off and bask in the immense feeling of self-satisfaction we feel right now. Plus, we have some PlayStation Eye games to play.

1. The Water Horse movie trailer looks horrible. Sony Pictures makes a lot of crappy movies.

2. not the best, not the worst.

4. Wow, for once we get the weak PS store update? Where's my EuroWhiner hat...I can't even think of anything to say coz this is the first time this has happened.

Uh..lame?

5. Personally, I'm ecstatic to see Spyro on here. I've been thinking that Americans haven't gotten much of any PSOne downloads in a while, and this was one of the top PSOne games I was hoping to get. I'm excited for EyeCreate, but I don't have my Eye yet. I ordered The Eye of Judgment and am waiting for it to come in the mail sometime soon...

7. Kind of a weak update....Spyro was cool back in the day, but I can't say I was realy looking forward to seeing it come out on PSN.....but I guess there are people that wanted it. Everything else is lame. *sigh*

8. Hmm so Will those 3 Playstation Eye Games make it to the Us PStore? Or Is gettign them from the UK PStore the only option? is that even possible outside the UK using a Canadian Credit Card ?

9. This is quite a disappointing update for us Yanks. I'm considering getting Eye of Judgment, but some nice downloadable games for the PSEye would help sway me.

10. Looking at Europe's update, most of it seems to be stuff we already got in America, although it seems Europeans got quite a bit more PlayStation Eye applications than we Americans did.

11. Now that I think about it, this aint a big deal. It means I have more time to beat R&C and Genji. Yes Genji, got it used for 15 bucks.

12. @ 9 & 10

yeah those 3 games look pretty interesting actually especially for such a cheap price,.

Hopefully we'll get em in North America soon,.

13. why no motorstorm add-on for us in the U.S.?

Posted at 7:15PM on Oct 25th 2007 by ArmorForVictor

14. thought just hit me -
i wonder if the delay of the PSeye games and MotorStorm addon had anything to do with the massive wild fires in Southern California. they've been evacuating homes and businesses, and Sony has some studios/offices down there, so....?

15. I think I was getting spoiled. Got so used to thursday's being something to look forward to that today's lineup was a letdown. Oh well, once every 5 or 6 weeks is alright with me. Does anyone else think that TC4 looks like something big for Japan, but meh for the states? That guncon looks sweet though.

16. What am I supposed to do with that Piyotama addon? Maybe I'm blind, but I don't see the actual game on the PSN. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

17. @16 your Blind. it's been there for about a month now

19. I'm surprised that so many people are complaining about this week's American PSN update. You should know there's only so much that can be provided at certain times. Not every week is a winner. It almost seems as lame as when people get angry over firmware updates. Be grateful for what you already have. Don't take it for granted that at least you have weekly updates like this at all. When I wanted PS2 demos, I had to subscribe to the Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine to get a monthly demo disc, but now, you can get demos for free almost weekly.

Quit complaining and just play something already! :p

20. Having just got my PS3 and being a non-hacked PSP owner I love the addition of Spyro to the mix...my kids will love it for the PSP (the GB version sucks).
