Excellent, it would have been messed up to expect people that already bought Oblivion to have to buy the Game of the Year edition just to get Shivering Isles.

Sweet,. But will you need to Swap Disc whe nyou go bakc and forth between Oblivion and Shivering Isles Locations?,. or will the Expansion Install from this Disc and then allow you to play Shivering Isles quests without having to swap out the Oblivion Disc,.

And I wonder will this make it to PStore as well,. Either way I'lll be Picking it up so glad to hear this hell i've had Oblivion since Release day for PS3 and on average play it 3 hrs a night after my kids are in bed and I've still only done half of what is in the game(Based on the Offical Guide)

I don't expect any of the idiots who spouted that the PS3 didn't have memory for the expansion when it came out for the 360 to issue a retraction any time soon.

awesome. despite having over a hundred hours in Oblivion already and having barely scratched the main quest won't keep me from picking this up!

I don't get why Oblivion scores so highly with people, I bought it when I was out in the states, so it was dirt cheap. When I brought it home and played on it, I got through the story mode in around 4-5 hours, which is usual, but then you have to go out of your way to find quests, which of most are meaningless, and just involve talking to a number of people, and tapping X a couple times. A lot of the stuff to do in it requires certain levels, or being at a certain stage in the game, which is very limiting. Oh, and scream for 360 ports! Yaay! Will not be getting this.

But Fighter's Stronghold, the final Oblivion content already available on Xbox Live, won't be on the disc.

20 dollar version of orginal game + this is still cheaper than 59.99 GOTY version.

I'll keep waiting for the DLC. I see no reason to go buy another disc and have to swap it to play the normal realm in Oblivion. We have a hard drive for a reason.

Gamefly is only charging me 48.99 for the GOTY new (new because i was first to rent it and this is how much it costs to keep it.) and they ship you the original booklet and instructions free. Plus i have a free $5 gift certificate coming (every 3 months, later you get a higher discount and $10/3months)
Since i wont beat this in time for Neurotic November, i think i'll buy it as Assassins Creed comes out to make sure im in line for that.

13 (Justin): PS3 version has crisper graphics, better character models, longer draw distance, and faster load times.

Contentwise, however, the 360 gets more. There is additional downloadable content available, for a price. However, the standard copy of Oblivion on the PS3 gets the Knights of the Nine content for free (although, so does the 360 GOTY version).

In the end though, the best version of Oblivion is the PC version. The graphics can be made better than either 360 or PS3, plus it gets all the official DLC (again, for a price), plus loads of free user-made mods.

However, unless your PC is pretty up to date, it will probably have trouble running Oblivion (my laptop can barely play it, even with majorly gimped graphics), and you may be better off investing in either the PS3 or 360 version.

Oblivion was great. I put in at least 120 hours on it without even bothering with the main story. The main story I found boring. Oblivion gates spawning all over even more so. Dark brotherhood was a blast.

No, it doesn't make it equal. No PS3 game will ever be equal to a 360 game because it will always be delayed by six months or so. It is really hard to take a game from such amazing hardware, like the 360, and downgrade it to something like the PS3. ;)

@17 yeah the dark brotherhood quests are great!i have put 30+ hours into and not even into the main story

this is one of the top games on the system ill be getting the expabnsion when it arrives in the uk

We put SI on a disc because our goal was to make it available which ever way possible. Right now, this is the way for us to do that.

If we make it available on PSN, we’ll let people know
