"What can I say about the ending ... it's the final chapter of Solid Snake, no joke about it. There's no smoke and mirrors, no jack in the box trick, this is the final chapter in his life, and in his story," Ryan Payton from Kojima Productions says in his revealing Metal Gear Solid 4 interview. In addition to promising a fulfilling end to the MGS saga, there are hints at unannounced gameplay modes (vehicles, perhaps?).
Most surprisingly is the differentiation between both the English and Japanese versions of the game. "It's going to be harder than the Japanese version, I can say that right now." The main reason for the difficulty change? The new FPS controls: "That over the shoulder view is going to be, I hope, the focal point. I want to make that the default setting." Honestly, we like it better that way. Make sure you read the rest of the Joystiq interview for more.

I'm not too sure about this new mode. I think a lot of the fans of MGS are fond of the traditional camera style.

I DON'T want the control system defaulted to a 'Western Style' they seem to be taking everything that makes MGS an MGS game catering it more to the Western audience and in turn turning it into just another shooter.
Sure the story will still be great, but for fans of the series (and honestly at this stage in the game they aren't going to be bringing many more on board regardless of how good the game is) changing too much and preventing them from enjoying the action parts inbetween the story sections is just plain arrogant.
Personally I love MGS (and MG in general), but hate shooters & FPS games and if KP go too far then what next? ZOE as a FPS? Boktai as a medieval mmorpg? lol

All the FPS shooter mode does is sell more of this game. People who like FPS like Halo and Killzone will more likely buy this game if it has a FPS mode. Me I like the over the shoulder cam. For stealth games it makes more sense.
I had a tough time with the controls and the camera for MGS3 so this one is a must buy.
Also why do males in Japanese made games look feminine?
Early 2008 right?

MORE difficult? Wow, what a stupid idea! Or not, I guess. I mean, I guess they know that MGS4 fans are pretty hardcore players. When I watched the playthrough antics I was totally overwhelmed. I am going to suck at this game so bad. I would rather just watch someone play it who can actually play it...
