  • The Shining
  • Meet the Robinsons
  • A Clockwork Orange
  • Full Metal Jacket: Deluxe Edition

3. I think I know why Bluray hasn't won yet: we only have horror movies. Sure we get a comedy once and a while, but we have probably 80% horror and thrillers in the lineup. Talk about bummerman.

8. I went to Fry's last night. A part of my trip was to pick up the Planet Earth blu-ray. When I rounded the corner to the aisle where blu-ray resides I was pleasantly shocked: the blu-ray section had been expanded to take up a complete aisle! HD-DVD, however, occupied a 2 foot section behind a pole on the aisle opposite the blu-ray (blue-ray used to have an identical 2 foot section right next to HD-DVD). I don't know if Fry's is doing this nationwide or if it is just the store here in Austin. Regardless, retailers seem to be making a decision even if consumers aren't.

9. Sweet jesus, someone turn off the "" tag.

And HELL YEAH to the Kubrick collection! The Shining, Full Metal Jacket Deluxe, Clockwork Orange, 2001: ASO...

I am seriously going to go broke this Christmas.

11. At last, some 'good movies' on Blu-ray, even if they are of the older, Stanley K type. But I am still looking forward to Lore of the Rings and Star Wars to have something I really want to see in HD. I'm living here in Japan and there's no-where to rent them, which is a real pain in the backside, as I don't see the point in buying most of the half-baked things Hollywood churns out, especially at the prices here (4,500 yen- about $45!)

12. My favorites, Kubrick AND 'King of New York' in the same week? Amazing!
