After moving Monster Hunter 3 from a PS3 exclusive to a Wii exclusive, many Sony fans were quite enraged. So much so that 31% of you are no longer interested in Capcom's products. That's some serious fallout! After days of teasing PS3 fans with the potential of "good news," Games Radar reports that Capcom will be bringing a port of Lost Planet to the PS3.
Lost Planet, originally released on Xbox 360 and PC, has players running and gunning on a frozen ice planet. Players will jump into various mecha to fight the insect swarm that's devastating the planet. The PS3 version will include all downloadable content on the Blu-ray disc, making it the definitive version of the game. 16 player online support via PSN is also confirmed.
This isn't the end of the Capcom announcements -- more are expected later this week. But, in light of today's announcement, how do you feel about Capcom now?

I would still only get DMC4, RE5, and maybe the newly announced Street Fighter. But the important thing is that they need to be good ports to the PS3, having just as much (if not more) features as the 360 version, and actually taking the time to utilize the Cell architecture properly (which was the reason I just about completely lost faith in EA).

I feel about the same about Capcom as before. Lost Planet had been begged of them to come to PS3 for the longest time, so it would take Dead Rising thrown in for good measure to make it worthwhile for me.
Sure, it's cool. Yay. LP for PS3. But a new title of some sort, or some kind of exclusive, is really the only way they could have met the hype. DR/LP combo would have sufficed for me personally though.

If this is what they thought would bring us around, then they need a good kick in the sack.

Still doesn't change my opinion about Capcom... Let's see... lost exclusive of DMC, RE, and complete loss of MH3 for a port... well I don't think a port will satisfy many people, especially if anything it can potentially alienate more support from Capcom. Since they worry about profit so much, a port of LP wont bring much especially after its out so long. And are there supposed to be more announcements for PS3? The countdown is already over isnt it?

Actually, the game sold reasonably well in the US, but bombed in Japan. Hmm, I wonder why...

Getting a port of a game in no way makes up for losing exclusivity of DMC and the total loss of MH3.

So we lose a new game, and get a year old port? Whoa, thanks Capcom...
A lot more PS3 bashing came because you got rid of an exclusive game (DMC). This hardly makes up for that.

Game was meh on 360, game will still be meh, (although probably slight worse off due to porting issues).
capcom, sort it out.

I guess this is the big announcement for PS3. Do they really think a port of a one year old game that no wants anymore is a big deal. This does not change anything. I am not only going to buy anymore of capcom games, but I am going to encourage my friends not to buy capcom either. I am even going to tell some of my 360 friends that Devil May Cry sucks and they ought to just stick to playing Halo because that's all they ever really play.

@Lt-Amuro
shooting games always bomb in Japan. they have a motion sickness thing and Lost Planet has really quick turns via the top trigger buttons. Most Japanese gamers were really turned off by this.
it's a fun game, albeit short. multiplayer is nothing to write home about.
i wonder if this will be a port from the 360 version or PC. because the PC actually sports better graphics such as bullet hole deformations in the snow, not just a black texture like the 360 one.
regardless ports just plain suck for the PS3. that's a known fact right now.
