Blu-ray movie releases for the week of Oct. 16

The horror-themed Blu-ray releases continue this week with a bevy of thrillers that should please any horror fan. Some may not like the decision to focus on the horror genre during the month of Halloween, but we're having a great time as some of the greatest horror movies have been released.
  • Hollow Man: Director's Cut
  • The Reaping
  • The Invisible
  • AC/DC: Live at Donington
  • Return to House on Haunted Hill
  • Masters of Horror: Season One, Volume I
  • Masters of Horror: Season One, Volume II

This week is arguably topped of with the director's cut of Hollow Man, but there's also AC/DC: Live at Donington thrown in, too. Some of you younger folks may not know, but AC/DC is one of the greatest rock bands of all time. You would make your father proud by picking it up and watching the greatest band to ever come out of Australia.

1. Hollow Man will be just as terrible on blu-ray as it is on any other media - awful film

2. AC/DC Rocks! There are very few people that haven't heard an AC/DC song, they just may not know it (although they should). Some of the greatest rock anthems of all time have come out of that sound barrier breaking band. Now if only they'd come out and do another tour!

3. Acca Dacca are awesome, but best band to come out of Australia? I'd say INXS, sure they were a little poppy, and Michael Hutchence didn't die choking on his own vomit, but they still rocked pretty hard.

4. the greatest band to ever come out of Australia."

How so? Midnight Oil at least talked about things that mattered. Nope, AC/DC ain't nothing unless you're a hick and you don't read books. boo

5. AC/DC is the greatest band out of Australia and if you don't think so, buy the blu-ray and find out why, also AC/DC family jewels, Midnight Oil sucked. and I'm not a hick, I live in vancouver where their are no hicks, just potheads.

6. @3: Lol, Inxs isn't even a contender. They had a few hits on a single album and were forgotten. Michael Hutchins (as the GLC say in a rap song) "died wanking on the loo". If that's not the funniest way to die I don't know what is.

7. I think you forgot to add "Transformers" on that list, which would DEFINITELY be the biggest release for the week! ;)

Posted at 1:46AM on Oct 15th 2007 by Ian

8. I have a feeling we will lose this week to HD-DVD. Face it, they have Transformers. But I am not worried, sooner or later, we will get our hands on Spider-Man 3, Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Simpsons Movie on Blu-ray.

Let's just hope I am dead wrong on this week and Blu-ray still win for this week. Let's buy them on DVD's and let the PS3 Upscaling do all the work :D

9. Is PS3 Fanboy US or European or both? Cause spiderman boxset is out today in the UK and its region free (and awesome! got mine on friday!)

Posted at 3:35AM on Oct 15th 2007 by Aygie

10. At #7, Ian, you must be forgetting that Transformers is HD DVD exclusive. Sorry Blu-Ray, no Transformers for you guys. This is not to start a flame war! I was just correcting one of the posts on here.

11. Transformers will be Old soon anyway. It is to me, now.

You can bet all your money for a Transformers 2 within the next 12 months. On Blu-ray.

Not to mention Transformers ported back over where it belongs with all it's other movie pals ;]

Sorry guys, but I'd rather take a full selection of films, instead of one.

:]
