Who knew that one day, we'd think $170 for a game would be a steal? Originally thought to be $200 (or more!), Rock Band now has a friendlier price. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will be available on November 23rd, and the package will include the game, one microphone, one guitar and drum kit. (Those pinching their pennies will want to go for the PS2 version, which will retail for $10 cheaper on December 10th.)
Strangely, the PS2 and PS3 controllers will be wireless, while the Xbox 360 ones will not. It may not matter to some, but multiplatform owners will most likely want to get the PS3 version for that very fact alone.

Looks like my wife won't have much thinking to do for my Christmas present this year. I wish she was as easy to shop for.

@5. Did you even read anything? This includes the game, a mic, a guitar (wireless) and the drumkit (also wireless). This is a _full package_.

Well not for nothing but whats the actual cost to produce the "full package"? Probably 30 bucks or less, including the cost to develop the game. Either way it looks like I'm gonna spend 170 bucks lol.. although I don't need the damn mic, how about a second guitar?

Wow! I remember everyone thinking it was going to be $199.99! This is almost 30 bucks less then I thought it was going to be, so this is a DEFINITE buy for me this holiday season! =)
@Michael K.: You can have your opinion about the game, the controllers, the price, and even the genre - BUT DO NOT start putting people down for wanting this game. For me, it's the ultimate party game for me and my friends - easier then setting up a real band! (Yes, I played the guitar back in college, and yes the band broke up before senior year, and yes it was the balls - but over too quickly!) I think any game that can simulate the same rush and strive toward perfection that GH and RB delivers is a great thing for any game. Especially RB since it fosters a sense of community and co-op play BETTER than any game before it. Unfortunately, you seem to be more interested in putting people down than a style of game that you hate. Good for you. I for one wouldn't like to see you in this community - it's too 'friendly' for a dip-shit like you. Not enough HATE... >=[

Not this multi concole owner as all of my friends have a 360 and none have a ps3 so I preordered the 360 version. The wire isn't that big of a deal and it means lee money spent on replacing batteries.
