Whilst getting some hands-on time with
Devil May Cry 4 at TGS with the guys from Capcom we asked a few questions regarding
Puzzle Fighter HD and its delay in Europe. The Capcom representitives told us that the game would be available for download on the EU PSN store in early November. The reason for the delay is,
as usual, localisation issues. They were also quick to mention that in solving these issues
now all future Capcom downloadable content will be available worldwide simultaneously. Sounds like a good deal to us.
We followed up by asking whether Sony Europe would be providing any localisation aid to publishers now that
they recognise the issues that are causing the delays and trying to fix them. Quite frankly, the answer is no. Third party publishers who want their content available to all regions simultaneously will have to make it happen themselves. But if Capcom can promise that all future releases will be available without delays, then others must be able to do the same, right Sony?

The localization excuse is getting on my nerves. Who said they want PSN content localized or they don't want it at all? I didn't. PSN *HAS* to be universal. Prices may differ with respect to region if that's what you want, but content should be available simultaneously. Steam works universally, what is the problem?!! Are you afraid of legal implications that are different in different countries? Steam does it, and I don't see anyone suing them. Instead, you may get sued for not bringing the PSN store to a lot of countries. My country (Turkey-Türkiye) doesn't have one, for example. But it is advertised that I can have access to PSN. Instead, I lie about living in a Pizza shop in NY to be able to get the goods! But why should that be necessary?
But anyway, I guess Sony Türkiye just want to ask for double the price for anything on PSN, the greedy sons of bad mothers. They are trying to sell Ninja gaiden for 145usd, for nature's sake!

On the point of Puzzle Fight HD, being UK based I logged on to the USA Store and downloaded the demo. Having never played the game before I spent a little time figuring out what all the different coloured shapes meant and how they reacted with each other, and once I had that nailed I could sail through the demo easily. It looks like a good game, simple and yet very addictive.
I would be wary about delaying Euro release for too long as the end of October marks the planned deluge of quality games and such a small game might get over looked.

@jayj - I'd take a guess that MS ARE assisting publishers with localisation because they already have such systems in place for dealing with their own products (Windows, Office, etc).
@Ian - good point on it being overlooked. It's definitely a risk for them now...
