At their Tokyo Game Show press conference today, Sony finally revealed how the PS3 got its groove back. Kaz Hirai announced that the DualShock 3 -- a Sixaxis controller with rumble -- will be out this November in Japan and Spring 2008 everywhere else.
Future games, such as Metal Gear Solid 4, will incorporate rumble technology, while older titles can enable rumble through software updates. No price has been given, nor was there any discussion on whether the Sixaxis would be phased out.

At first I was a little taken back when I found out that the Dualshock 3 wasnt coming out until 2008 for us.
But then I realized that thats 50 less dollars I have to spend this christmas when all the other games come out. And it made me happy.

Why would it take longer for it(the new controller) to hit the US and EU? I imagine that no matter the controller it meets all FCC(and other world regulations).

Spring 2008? Stupid.
That's just one more reason for people to hold off on buying a ps3; why buy now when you know they are going to update the controllers in half a years time?

yeah I was hoping for FFVII remake to, but i guess TGS or any other event will sucks if you don't hear what you really want to right?,. I'ts good to hear that Rumbles back though and that Remote play and PStore are gettign improvements in the various ways though,.
And the Delay Sucks for HOME but if it's to make it better instead of coming out plain and dull its ok isn't it? as for the Controller why the hell would it take so much longer to come out here? that don't make sense,.bad enough we have to wait for 6mths or more for Tranlated verions of SqaureEnix RPG's(Crisis Core for example)

@9
who said it wasnt?
its last gen but if ppl still want it they have to get it back
rumble was fun when it was first added but eventualy you dont even feel it rumble in your hand you just hear it rumble when your dualshock is on the couch and touch the TV controller

Hey, at least many of the current titles will support rumble, such as F1:CE.
