A SCEE spokesperson stated to Eurogamer that "all the changes in the firmware update were for the US and Japan, and actually had no effect for us in Europe." All it did do on our end is prevent us from playing Warhawk. Thanks, Sony!

Um...so what did the EU PS3's do that ours didn't? WTF this was so stupid. It's like they just put out something to piss people off. I don't get it I really don't.

So there was basically no need for Sony to share this info with us. This is PROOF that Sony are trying to intentionally insult their EU customer base.

So it doesn't work for you guys out there if you reconnect your network connection through the built-in utility. That seems to work great for me. But I have to do it every time I want to play. After I start the game I have no trouble even changing servers. The moment I jump out of the game completely though I have to do it again.

Way to throw gasoline on a fire Sony. A firmware update that not only doesn't shut my controllers off automatically but prevents me from playing the best game so far...Warhawk.
I hope they get everything figured out some day. Getting a little tired of the teething.

I have no problems playing Warhawk. You might want to check if the problem is not on your end.

You all seem to have it already in your heads that anything Sony does will be wrong. If they hadn't been forthright, but the public found out anyways then Sony would be accused of a cover-up. It's a lose/lose situation. I think just coming out with it is certainly the lesser of two evils.
As for superfluous updates, I'm sure it's just a limitation of the infrastructure. As a developer, I can speak for how difficult it can be to change infrastructure. What ever happened to "no harm no foul"?
The people that have jacked-up network connections have room to complain, but everybody else should just shut up. Even then, it sounds like some people just need to re-establish their connection and then they're good to go again. Has everyone with problems even tried this? The update didn't hurt my connection so I wouldn't know.

I'm from the UK, great. Don't Sony usually warn about installing foreign firmwares? Really, what the hell was the point of this? Anyway, where the hell is my BC for Jak and Ratchet and Clank series?!?I'd be very annoyed if these work in the U.S. because of the update and not us. Remember, Sony. Once we were treated equal. You could of at least updated the store with Tekken Online or more dl'able titles. Anyway, don't go ruining the best thing to hit EU's PS Store; Warhawk.

Just another reason why games (like Warhawk) shouldn't be online-only.

I think they mean installing a Japanese update from the JP site... I dunno.
I'm still completely clueless as to why I can't download the changes between 1.90 and 1.92.
I have to download the updates at work (because they just crawl on PS3 - until it hits 48%... then it finishes?)
But why should I download an ever-growing 200mb file every 3-4 weeks?

17: Ever growing? No matter what version of PS3 you have, you can always just download the latest ~90MB firmware. It's always the same size. It does not grow.

this explains why Manhunt didn't work before and didn't work after.
This is really pathetic and in fact, infuriating to be honest. The UK is last to get games compared to Japan and America, and now we're last to get good, working firmware updates.
Reason im so annoyed is because i've got TWO PS2 games that wont work on my PS3. Manhunt and True Crime 2. Come on Sony...
