PS3 and eight Blu-ray movies for $475

It sucks to be an early adopter, y'know? We had to suffer intolerable waits in line, high prices, and a lack of free bonuses. (Okay, so we got "Talladega Nights.") Either through a glitch, or an intentional deal on amazon.com's part, you can buy a 60GB PS3 system and get eight Blu-ray movies for about $475, free shipping included. How does one take part in such a spectacular deal?
  • Add the 60GB PS3 to your amazon.com shopping cart.
  • Choose three Blu-ray movies from this list and add them to the cart. [Updated link!]
  • Right before checkout, you'll see the discount applied (see picture, right).
Then, you'll get a rebate form for five more Blu-ray movies. Even if you don't want to be part of a next-gen movie format war, this is still one of the cheapest ways we've seen to get a PS3 -- the free movies are a nice added bonus.

1. Humm looks very nice. Awesome deal for ppl who think the PS3 costs too much.

2. DUDE, Talladega Nights is NOT a free bonus. I'm pretty sure Sony needed to weigh down the first 500 000 PS3 boxes and it was cheaper than a blank Blu-ray disc.

3. this has nothing to do with buying a ps3, amazon is having a buy 2 get free deal on blu ray and hd dvd. The only catch is that the titles are completely random. more info here

6. @5

Why would you want to do that ? You don't mean that you want games without paying for them do you ?

8. i imagine you would have to go to another ps3 and log into your PSN account, go to "download list" and download from there.

10. I just bought the PS3 and 3 movies for $478.04 not being an Amazon Prime member. I think you need to be a Prime member to get the 5 movie rebate form.

11. Prime membership is not needed for anything here. Prime just gets you faster shipping for free. Make sure you read everything on the site carefully.

12. About game sharing:

@8 i tried to log on to the store on my friends ps3 and it was a no go. It said i wasnt allowed.

@6 I know sony themselves have said this is possible for some games. So im not trying to do anything against their policy.

13. It works for every PSN game except Warhawk. Which is understandable being a blu ray title.

14. The 5 free movies is a separate deal. See http://www.bluraysavings.com/

17. HELP! I clicked on the link for the "Blu-ray offer" and it just takes me to an HD-DVD offer. Where do I see the selection of Blu-ray movies?

18. Crap deal. Go to Sony Style, get a Sony Rewards card ($150 off a $300 purchase as sony style) and you can pick up a PS3 for $350 (not including tax) and almost have enough reward points to get another controller. Buy a game at SonyStyle.com and you'll have enough points you can get a controller for free.

19. @12
You can only redownload stuff for PS3s that are activated under your account. You have to go into account management or whatever it's called to activate the PS3 for your account. I think you can only have 5 PS3s active per PSN account. So your buddy would have to go into his account and deactivate his PS3. Then you log into your account on his PS3 and activate it for you. Then you can redownload games you've bought onto his PS3. I haven't tried it out but that's how it should work.
