PS3 Fanboy

I see the same things being posted on Gamepro as I do everywhere else, Xbox360 owners posting "Bioshock > HS". Well I decided to find out what the fuss was all about and picked up the game for my PC (yes I could run everything on full) and it was average IMO. HS I'm really looking forward to, I'm glad I own a PS3 and passed on the 360.

BioShock is fantastic game, and I'm loving every moment of it. I'll likely grab Heavenly Sword for my PS3, but I HIGHLY doubt it'll be as well recieved as BioShock. The IGN review is already an indication of this.

By the way, GamePro gave BioShock 5/5.

Oh, and secondly, I don't see how someone could be glad that they "passed on the 360," and call themselves a gamer. Hardware troubles aside, and they have been fixed now anyhow, the 360 has a vastly superior game lineup at the moment, and will greatly outshine the PS3 this holiday season.

I own both consoles, but I barely touch my PS3. Believe me, I wish this wasn't the case, but aside from Tekken:DR, Motorstorm and Super Stardust, nothing has been able to hold my attention. Real gamers, ones that like PLAYING GAMES, have no reason to hate the 360 aside from blind fanboyism. Compare these lineups:

And don't give me that "360 has been out longer," crap. The 360 had bigger hits at it's one year mark than the PS3 will, trust me.

Unlike you, Ithilis, some people have work or like to earn straight A's in school. While they were becoming valedictorian and getting promoted at work and starting their own families and buying a house, what were you doing, Ithilis?

Have you ever thought that the reason I didn't buy a 360 is becuase I don't have the same tastes and values as you do??? I probably don't wear the same clothes that you do. Do you think Hillary Clinton would prefer Gears of War, or do you think a prison inmate would prefer it more??? Oh, brother.

You boutht the PS3 not for gaming. You bought the 360 first and felt you needed a good bluray player that also plays games. Anyone who buys a PS3 *first would rarely think about buyign a 360. Anyone who bought a 360 *first will contemplate buying or already bought a PS3 at some point.

This is a site for PS3 people to enjoy their PS3's. I think you're not supposed to be here Ithilis. This is a fan club. Not a customer service club. Did you know that we don't like you Ithilis and your family genes.

I didn't decide he needed anything. I just wanted to point out that the 360 has a stronger lineup, which as gamers, you'd think we'd all appreciate. If you were to look at the top ten games on that PS3 list, you'd notice that only 2 of them are exclusive to the PS3. The 360 has all the rest as well, most of which perform better, in addition to several other high-rated (8+) exclusives.

Since getting a PS3 and reading this forum, I have read one blind justification after another condemning Microsoft's machine. I'm a gamer, I love playing games, and I think anyone that believes that good games will only come out for the PS3 is ignorant and foolish. By dismissing the 360, you're doing yourself a disservice.

You're funny. I'm 28, I'm engaged and own a house, and I'm a financial advisor with TD Canada Trust, one of the largest and most successful banks in Canada. Gaming hasn't gotten in the way of my life, but it has enriched it.

You're right, though. We probably don't wear the same clothes, but we both love videogames, right? Why dismiss half of the medium when it's a passion of yours?

I'm here because I have a PS3, and I enjoy it for what it does. I play Tekken:DR for hours at a time when I have some of my close friends over. But you're all missing my point here. We're all gamers, right? We love to play videogames as a hobby. As a gamer, how can you disrespect the 360 when it has so many good games? I find it VERY hard to believe that your tastes cannot be satisfied with their game library, because it currently has a lot more to offer than the PS3.

As a gamer, I was merely trying to understand your animosity towards the 360. It's a great system, save for the hardware failure, and an amazing compliment to the PS3. If you are a serious gamer, and want a robust and definitive library of games, you cannot do it without BOTH consoles.

I'm not dismissing Microsoft's gaming machine, I dismiss Microsoft - as a multinational monopolistic megacorporation. I don't support any of Microsoft's products and I'm a happy Mac user.

I'm quite happy with my PS3 and the games I have. Also, most of the games on the 360 are either also on PS3 or will soon be. I don't really see what it is I'm missing out on...

The one thing I REALLY don't understand is why 360 users feel the need to come onto PS3 sites (especially this one - named PS3 Fanboy!) and rip on the PS3, it's software and it's users. That really makes no sense to me. If you're happy with your machine, just enjoy it. Why rip on others and spoil their enjoyment??

I'm glad to see that not all reviews are as critical as the IGNUK one - it made me worry that this game perhaps wasn't what it's being made out to be. The screnshots look as beautiful as ever. :)

Dear gods, I'm not even sure I can be bothered to read most of this. Firstly IMO (I'll write that here again for people that take everything to heart. IN MY OPINION) Bioshock was average. I wasn't that bothered by it before it came out and I've since gone back to playing Oblivion on my PC now I do have it.

Second. I've been playing games since the days when you had to code them yourself on machines with less that 50k of memory before you could play them so please don't insult my status as a gamer, I didn't say I'd not owned a 360. I actually had 4 of them and all 4 of them red ringed, I'm sorry if my comment about "passing" on the 360 was misunderstood. I can see how you could and that wasn't my intent. Don't believe I had a 360? I'm sure I could find a few pics if you really wanna be that lame.

Thirdly I didn't say I was anti-360 (although given the trouble I had with them I'd be in my right), I said I loved my PS3 and was glad I'd passed on the 360. I use my PS3 about 80% more than I ever did my 360, everything from BD to Linux makes the PS3 a 1000x more worth while to me. There is only one game I'd want on the 360 right now and that is Mass Effect and frankly it wouldn't shock me if MS plopped it on Vista to help sales. The PS3 has or is getting all the games I want right now.

My world doesn't spin around what everyone else likes, it spins around what I like. Right now, I can't wait for HS and Bioshock doesn't hold my interest. THAT'S WHY I OWN A PS3. Jeeessssh.

Hey Downwardmonkey, I thought Mass Effect was hitting PC. At least I remember reading that somewhere.

I agree with Monkey, in the end BS wasn't "revolutionary." The story was rather engaging and the art deco a pleasant change from most FPS but after you beat it...its just any other FPS. There is really no replay to the damn thing (I got the PC version so I'm not obsessing over achievements.)

As for the topic, for some odd reason I can't wait for Heavenly Sword. I'm a huge fan of organic texturing and the face recognition rendering is something I really want to see live not just in trailers. Also from the trailers I've seen, the game seems to have humor...I love humor in my games.

Next week, can't wait.

Id get both but i had to buy a sweet ass tv to go with my ps3 instead of an xbox 360. Plus I loved my PS2 and wanted the continuation of those games which can only be fulfilled by the PS3. PS3s lineup this holiday is spectacular in my opinion and I could easily name 10 games I will buy the day they come out: Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Folklore, COD4, Uncharted Drakes Fortune,Lair,Guitar Hero 3, Rock Band,UT3,Ratchet and Clank,Assassins Creed,The Orange Box and thats all before Christmas. I dont even want to keep going for games before next summer it would be ridiculous, but I will do it in parenthesis.(Burnout Paradise,DMC4,MGS4,GTA4,Infamous,Silent Hill 5,Soul Caliber 4,Killzone 2,LBP,Fallout 3,Turning Point Fall of Liberty) Some of those are maybes because I havent heard much from them lately but crap if Im not going to be busy with games well into the summer of 09 starting tonight at 12:01am.

I agree with that you said about BioShock, it wasn't bad and I've never said that. It just didn't do it for me personally. 360 owners are lucky to have it but from my point of view they are welcome to it. I'm sure PS3 only owners would feel otherwise though.
