There's no word yet on an American release date, but expect it to be around the same time as the European release. Activision are maintaining a "Winter" release for CoD4, saying nothing more specific than that. November 9th is clearly a target date, so don't be disappointed if it gets pushed back. But as PS3 owners, we're used to that. Right?

I'm thinking I should just book November off as a holiday and get ready for some non-stop FPS heaven! COD4 will be the top FPS in my opinion, even better than killzone (although online play will probs be a different story)

A date of '2nd November' has been plugged in to Play.com for some time now. I guess they're not too far off.

I know some people don't want games released to close to eachother so not to flood the market and hurt sales with too many options sometimes. But it doesnt matter how many come out, if they are good, Ill buy them all!

I mean if any one of those games were to come out during the summer drought it would sell just as much if not possibly more. We sit here for months with no games barely at all coming out, and then all the big boys drop at once? That just seems like really poor marketing to me, but what do I know, I'm just the consumer.

That guy in the screenshot is the same dude from COD 2. Remember, the English Captain. The must have left his face model the same. wtf.
If you remember COD2 in one of the levels that you fight in Egypt, at the end, after you call in the airstrikes you talk to him at the end of the level and he has a bottle of champaigne or something.
