Here we go again. The next three issues of "Worldwide PS3 releases" are going to be depressingly bare, so you can probably stop reading right now. Wait until the end of the month, then we'll have far more releases happening on a weekly basis. Possibly even, more than one. Fingers crossed. US Games
EU Games
- No new releases
- No new releases
*Update*
Okay, so the confusion about Splinter Cell comes from the fact that some places like Amazon.com are listing it in 'preorder' status right now, with a ship date of tomorrow. We have no idea why it would be like this, considering it was released worldwide on March 30th of this year. Ubisoft may have cut off shipments and be rereleasing it due to some unknown bug in the original version. If we can get an answer out of Ubisoft on this weirdness, we'll let you know.

Didn't that game already come out?

Does Ubisoft hate Sony or something? That game came out on the Xbox 360 a LONG time ago.

WHAT? This is the THIRD time this game has been "released"! It's actually advertised as "Available now" on the back of the R6: Vegas Manual. What the hell's going on?

This was released, panned by critics and gamers alike, and generally written off as a shit port; although, I've never actually seen it for sale anywhere, so I didn't know what to make of it. Me confused as well.

Didn't something like this happen before? Something that had already been released was listed as releasing "this week?" I love our writers, but it looks like we really need to get on the ball.
Oh and a good story we missed that developed the last couple of days was HMV (big European and Asian electronic media/entertainment retailer) taking preorders for MGS4 on 360 to be released five months after the PS3 release, then stating that the posting was a mistake. Really a mistake or trying to cover a slip up? I'd venture the former, but here's some more fuel for the fire...

I heard about that too upz; I'm quick to write it off as someone who does their website not having a clue about what was going on. The fact that it was for a game that has so many rumours surrounding it is pretty much a coincidence in my opinion. Either that, or they get their news from the internet, and as we can all see those tend to get a little... confused.
Hell, it was just last week that I got a cancellation notice for Beautiful Katamari on the ps3 from amazon. I'd forgotten I'd even ordered it from them.

I thought the exact same thing, mccomber. However, the HMV denial seems a bit fishy...
http://www.mcvuk.com/news/27949/HMV-denies-MGS4-for-360
Over-enthused webmaster puts up MGS4 360 pre-order when he means to make a mailing list sign up page for those who are potentially interested in a 360 version? I might buy that, but how do they explain a release date that's later than the PS3 version by not some round, speculative number like, say, six months, but instead, the seemingly arbitrary (or perhaps pinpoint) five months and eight days? Why is there a release date at all for a mailing list sign up page?
In other words, this doesn't seem like simple speculation from an over-excited employee. It seems more like an employee either deliberately adding more fuel to the rumor or a slip up and rushed cover up by HMV.

@#7 "WHAT THE HELL?? I GOT THIS GAME AT LAUNCH WITH MY PS3, LIKE A YEAR AGO. WHAT ARE YOUR SOURCES??"
You got this game, which came out at the end of March 2007,(the 29th and 30th), a year ago? And you state you got it at the PS3 launch. The PS3 was launched in November 2006 in Japan and N America. And it was released on March 23rd 2007 in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
So lets say you actually got it after launch. That's not even five months ago. Not quite a year, now is it?

The game has been out at least in EU for a Long time.
I bought it myself 1week ago.
short review:
needs 0.5Gb of HDD to work and there are long loading times. also the cut scenes has some serious FPS drop... The single player gameplay is okay, but using the right analog to change the view turns the wrong way compare to what we are use to. The net play is okay... Meet some British ppl there so the game is definitely out there to.

This game was released in the US for a very short time. I have never physically *seen* it anywhere. Not Gamestop, not EBGames, not Fry's, nowhere. I think they are re-releasing it or something. Maybe it was that shameful.
I guess Europe can still buy it, but it's weird how it got pulled from _every_ US store and nobody noticed.

The ironic part of that apparent 360 date is what releases THIS year for the 360 on that date in Europe?
Maybe it's just some 360 fanboy who thought to himself, "you know what would be hilarious..?" Until we get confirmation from Konami that it IS, I'm keeping firmly listed in the don't hold your breath category of rumour.

VERY keen observation. One hell of a joke if you're right on this one. Makes the possibility of a prank much more plausible. Also, I don't know about Europe, but a game release on a Friday (9/26/08) is pretty suspect.

I think this whole MGS thing was a slip, think about it. MGS 2 showed up on the Xbox and MGS 3 was going to be on Xbox but then 360 came along and they did not know what system to put it on then MS killed off Xbox and Konami never got to get MGS 3 on Xbox. ANother thing is that Konami has never specifically said that MGS 4 will be exclusive only to the PS3. So, im guessing that it was a slip and Konami got on their asses and they tried to cover it up. I have very little doubt that MGS 4 will be on the 360 and they will probably announce it somethime around launch of the PS3 version.
