Talking with the UK branch of PC Gamer, Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli said that Crysis could indeed come to the PlayStation 3, but that they aren't working on it at the moment. According to Cevat, the port would require optimization and extra work, and that's why they're not doing a console port at the moment. He goes on, "What you would not do is make Crysis on PS3, 360 and PC for a single shipping date, because we would lose the quality focus."
So Crytek is looking for PS3 developers and they've finally admitted officially that Crysis could run on the PlayStation 3. Seems like a pretty good indication that we will (someday) be playing Crysis on the PS3, but don't plan on it anytime soon. Killzone 3 will probably be out first ...

This would be awesome cuz I'm already hearing people buying and upgrading PC's just for this game. And that's supposedly "expensive".

"In the latest episode of the 1UP Yours, Crytek has confirmed that a 360 version of Crysis is in development. It should be noted, however, that the game will not be a port of the PC version, but rather an entirely new game built from the ground up. The reasoning for this decision, according to the devs, is that the PC game simply couldn't run on an Xbox 360. Given that the title uses many of the advanced features of DirectX 10 (the 360 uses DirectX 9), this isn't too surprising -- although the explanation contradicts earlier statements from the developers. The game will reportedly share many elements with its PC counterpart, but contain entirely different graphics and gameplay."

no ps3 exclusives here.
surprised how one-sided and out of context this article is, considering the coverage on x3f was equal mentioning the ps3 as well.

Now look at the date again, Jason... :)
Besides, who else than the developer of a game has to say "we develop it for consoles, f*ck yeah!" for it not being a rumor? ;)

The last thing the ps3 needs is ports of... we need games made for the ps3 be it exclusive or not, so you ps3 devs out there - go make us a ps3 version of crysis...oh and make sure you release a playable demo too

Quoted (from http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=169174 ): **So don't go singing 'Crysis on console' from the rooftops just yet - Yerli added that there aren't any plans for Crysis on PS3 and Xbox 360 currently. "...it's a matter of how far we can take each platform" and Crytek would not go to a platform unless it could make the game "number one there". **
So, fanbois, RELAX!!! It might happen, or it might not... kinda like a terrorist attack, an 9.0 earthquake, or the end of the world. Only, this one is more likely! =D

I think this speaks volumes for the developers, and also shows the belief they have in their game: That an "interpretation" tuned to each console is still worth releasing the game later.
And it won't really hurt, because most of us are not playing PC games, so we would not have experienced it there.
And if it comes to 360, most of us won't experience that, either.
So even if it comes 'late,' if it's good code, I for one will support it, because one of the great pleasures of playing video games is when the code is good, when you know you're playing a well-oiled machine.

i see this as a possiblity both sytems use directx9 but invidias so called inferior rsx chip also uses Open GL2.0. to some people OGL2.0 can be better than or equal to directx10.
