Sony have confirmed to Eurogamer.net that the PS1 title Medievil has been removed from the European PSN store. It seems the game has a bug which comes into effect in level 3, crashing the game. Until Sony have fixed the problem, Medievil will not be available to purchase from the online store. Anyone who has already bought the game, however, will be able to download the fixed version free of charge. Spyro 2 looks like it may well be receiving the same treatment as it suffers from sound issues, during the cutscenes. While this isn't a game-stopper, it is an inconvenience and for first-time players might spoil the experience somewhat. There is no word yet when Medievil will be put back on, but Sony has promised to make a statement "in due course."
Crash Bandicoot 2, which was released alongside Medievil and Spyro 2 last Thursday, appears to be trouble free. For now. Typical, really, as it's the only one we didn't buy.

Emulation bugs, I'm sure they'll work it out eventually. It's like my PSP going from firmware 3.40 to 3.52...some of the sound bugs got fixed in FFT.

I hope Sony keeps working on the software emulation of PS1 and PS2 games. Even games that according to Sony's software compatability list should be working 100% can have problems. A couple of days ago I tried Ratchet & Clank 1 on my PAL PS3. The game ran fine, but it was unbearably slow running at 50% of the original speed. It's a good thing I've kept my PS2 so I could play it as it was meant to be played.

Spyro 2 DOES contain a game wrecking bug that Sony are fully aware of.
I have spoken to them directly. Upon entry to the IDOL SPRINGS portal the game autosaves -begins a cut scene and then crashes to a black screen.
I have redownloaded this game 3 times now and the bug occurs each time. It has been repeatedly reported to Sony who should have removed Spyro2 from sale alongside MediEvil. Some reports say they have it is still unclear.
These games should have been beta tested before being offered for sale. I am not alone in the SPYRO 2 game wrecking bug it is affecting many others who are registering this issue with Sony on the official boards. (As well as the lesser sound bug.) Apparently Crash2 is suffering issues when transferred to PSP although it plays perfectly well on PS3. Sony need to get better beta testers. The Game DESTROYING bugs in both medievil (upon entering hilltop mausoleum) and SPYRO2 (when entering idol springs) occur in the first 20 minutes of gameplay.and should have been detected and fixed prior to being put on sale and using its loyal userbase aS CHEAP BETA TESTERS we even had to pay for the pleasure of beta testing all this DLC. At the moment I have lost some faith in the PSN and it will be a while before I download anything again!
The confusion over SPYRO2 is annoying me. People are saying that it has been removed from sale as well. Sony seem to be dragging its feet over admitting this game is unplayable for some strange reason. It needs clearing up.

Its Official!Direct from Sony - Spyro2 has also been withdrawn from sale on the Euro PSN due to it being unplayable past the Idol Springs portal as well as its minor sound issues.

What I want to know is - why has support been given for the analog controls in the US, but not the UK? Obviously with the PSP, you can't render the right analog stick and that's why they use the shoulder buttons, but there's no excuse for the left stick. And it renders Spyro 2 almost completely unplayable - although I hadn't realised just HOW unplayable until I read this article as I stopped playing fairly quickly.
Won't be buying any more PS1 network titles that were reliant on the left stick until they fix that.

They do. They can't be expected to play through the entirety of every game. We'd never get some of them

In Spyro 2 they don't have to play the entirety of the game. If they had played for ten minutes they would have come across the serious bug. Does this mean they really don't test at all?
