LittleBigPlanet does, in fact, have enemies and bosses

In an oft rumored but never confirmed way, we had expected LittleBigPlanet had more under its hood than character and level creation/sharing/playing. In an EGM interview with Media Molecule, it has finally been confirmed that getting in your way across the levels will be enemy creatures and sometimes big bosses.

Said senior producer Pete Wilson: "They will range from little robots that simply roam from left to right to spectacularly complex beasts that pose quite a challenge. We've recently built this big, huge giant, and, as with other objects in the game, he's composed entirely of materials that you wouldn't expect. He's quite intimidating, and shows the possibility of what designers can create."

Creating our own enemies? Talk about awesome. Expect us to create a MegaMan style level for you -- little enemies, then a boss. Or perhaps a Dr. Wily style room with teleporters leading to all 8 bosses in the game! Well, who knows how many, but you get the idea. More possibilities to consider on top of the already endless list.

2. Man this thing sounds better and better all the time! This game is gonna OWN. The reason MS will go down is because they rejected awesome IP's like this one!!

3. Cue the five billion recreations of various Super Mario levels. Still looking forward to this though (and, I'll admit, even the Super Mario recreations).

5. @1: The beta hasn't started yet, that picture was a fake. Sony would announce if the beta had in fact started.

Pertaining to the announcement: Yes! Already a lot more potential added to a game that was already limitless. What else can we ask for? I can't wait for LittleBig Planet, it's gonna be so awesome.

6. @ShadowBlade
looks photoshopped to me.
1) the fact that the font size for LBP is smaller and narrowed than the rest of the letters on the page is the first give away.
2) the artifacts on the left and right of the text are the result of mis-aligned pixels due to using either Copy/Paste or the Sample tool.
3) why's it up on the German Store instead of the UK Store? kinda suspect that this is the only photo evidence we've seen of it for now.

course, this could just be the angle that the picture was shot at and maybe natural artifacts, but my money's on the fact that this is bunk till we've heard it officially announced.

7. I wonder if there are going to be tools in the game. They've already shown the jetpacks (which are dynamic).. but, it would be so cool to have dynamic hookshots, bow and arrows, etc..

Also, what about soundtracks... they probably wont let you upload music due to copyright issues.. so, there may be a midi-style composer or even a loop generator.

8. I'm totally with Nick on this one, I'm going to be making Mega Man (X) levels all the way!

12. Wow... Sony fanboys like Shark are soo ignorant and into themselves, you get a game and you take a shot at the xbox 360 wow... just wow

Posted at 7:46PM on Jul 27th 2007 by mitch

13. The reason Sony is going down is because they keep rejecting IP's like Halo 3, Mass Effect, and bioshock... Thats the reason a company doesn't get a game according to shark :)

Posted at 7:47PM on Jul 27th 2007 by mitch

14. Again: next-gen. Nothing like this has ever been done before, on any console, and it looks like it's being done extraordinarily well, with top marks in every of it's new categories.

18. 9. Potentially this has the potential to make a potential profit. Is is PS store only or will it be retail too?

this might work better, Potentially this as the possibility to make a significant profit.

you potentially just potentailly killed the word potentially for me for what potentially might be the rest of my potential life.

now on the topic thread! AMAZING BADDIES AND GOODIES! I cannot wait for this title, i need it now, I love the variety sony offers its players, Game 3.0 titles like this that offer unlimited possibilities extend game replay value, forever, and ever, and ever. Potentially, this game has the potential to potentially revolutionize gaming in the potential future.
