ABC has always been interested in turning Lost into something more than 'just' a TV series. To flesh out the Lost world, they had a famous author write The Bad Twin, a book supposedly written by one of the people who died in the initial plane crash on the island. Then they also created a massive Alternate Reality Game that went on for months and involved everything from hidden images in major publications to phone calls in the dead of night on your cell phone. They've even had members of the Lost mythos appear (in character) on Jimmy Kimmel Live, not to mention the plethora of websites they've created to backup the story on the show. In fact the only thing they haven't dabbled in is videogames ...
Now, it's been known for a bit that a Lost videogame is coming out, but with no details of any kind, it was hard to tell what to expect. Well wonder no more, as GameTrailers has the first official trailer of the Lost videogame. The game will be released in 2008, just before the start of Season 4 and is said to be directly tied to the Lost mythos, so it's not going to be some random non-canon storyline. The trailer shows off a new hatch, plenty of familiar characters and some pretty hot graphics. Think Myst crossed with Uncharted and you'll get the picture. So check out the trailer up above and let us know what you think, can they pull off a decent Lost game or is this going to be another cheesy cash-in.

I know it's probably very early, but it looks bad so far. Jerky framerate, tearing, simple environments (unless you're in a cave), and that annoying bloom overbrightness.
As development continues I may change my mind but at this point it's not looking so good.

WOW! It looks MUCH better than I thought it would. I hope its as well written as the show, but I have my doubts. Plus, I know they can't give anything BIG away in a video game. My guess-it'll be like the lost experience (online game last year). It's early but it looks fun.

Well that looked awful. I hope they improve on that, just for the sake of it.

Well i'm a massive fan of LOST but this just doesn't look that great. I thought the cave and jungle environments looked good graphically, but the character models UGH. Was that supposed to be Sawyer? That was like worse than ps2 graphics.
How do you fight in the game anyway? All it showed was this new character just running away from stuff.

Those do look like PS2 characters. Are you sure this game isn't being made for the PS2 and inevitably the Wii?
It would make more sense considering not too many will buy this unless they like the show and less have 360's and PS3's

The only way this would work is if they setup the game in the Lost mythos, but didn't try and tie it directly into the current storylines of the show.

This looks really really terrible. It looks like the equivalent of clip art put into a video game.
I love Lost...I hope it ends up being as good as the show.

well, as said previously, the game's frame rate is horrible. However, i don't think that should be to hard to fix in the time thats left to the developers.
