The PS3 also had an excellent showing. Starting strong with a $100 price drop and then announcing exclusive bombshells, Sony is showing that it's ready to play hardball. Sony had an incredible first-party showing, with many games that are going to be system sellers. But ... which game took the cake as the best PS3 game at E3? Read on to find out.

PS3 GAME OF THE SHOW

LittleBigPlanet
It's hard to understand the appeal of LittleBigPlanet until you try it for yourself. Collaborative creation is a total blast, especially with such an intuitive interface. The game sports some intensely pretty visuals, and cute charm simply oozes out of the game. Without a doubt, LittleBigPlanet is going to be the best reason to own a PS3 when it comes out.

Runner-up: Heavenly Sword

1. "The" best reason?

It's one of the best, no doubt. There are too many to name just one. PS3 will have at least one AAA game for every genre every year for a decade.

This is going to be a very expensive year, I lOVE it!!!

2. Different games appeal to different people, and that's the reason I bought a PS3. The PS3 offers so much diversity in their game selection, not just shooters and arcade games (COUGH, XBOX). With so much choice in games, with literally every genre having just an absolutely awesome game, the PS3 is going to have systems flying off the shelves before you know it. And in my books, Killzone 2 won, just because I didn't expect it to look like that.

3. @Alphabetpictures
Yes yes very funny. You saya arcade games and shooters and then cough and saya xbox. Very funny.
@Maurice_Chavez

4. Sony is doing a great job of covering all interests and genres. Can you name a genre Sony doesn't have exclusives for?

You forgot Xbox also has racing games.(I'll admit Forza 2 is pretty awesome)

5. Best announcement is Sony purchasing NCSOFT. There are already three games that might me on the PSN
-Soccer Fury (football)
-Smash Star (tennis
-Atrix (sounds like a shooter)

6. I totally agree with Alphabetpictures, I'd never thought of that but that's something I love about every Playstation I've owned, is that I can get an awesome version of any genre on this platform, not to mention the franchises I love, such as Ratchet, Jak, Sly, Final Fantasy, and of course Gran Turismo.
