European PSN updates for July 19th

Another Thursday update for us Europeans. Is this going to be a recurring thing? It makes sense for all the stores to be updated on the same day, after all. Well, let's get down to it. Here are your updates to the store for this week:
  • Ratatouille film trailer (free)
  • The Darkness trailer (free)
  • The Darkness demo (free)
  • Rainbow Six: Vegas trailer (free)
  • Grand Theft Auto IV trailer (free)
Just in time for the European release tomorrow, The Darkness gets a demo and a trailer. So if you're not sure whether to get the game or not, check these out. We're not at all surprised to see a lack of Heavenly Sword demo this week, despite it being ready to go. We'll no doubt see it next Friday. Or Thurday. Which is it, Sony? You're messing with our heads.

1. Sounds like we're really getting a good service on the Euro PSN now. Thank you Sony!

Now, I'm border line on buying Rainbow Six. Is there a demo in the pipeline for this?

2. Speaking as someone who hasn't bought a Rainbow Six game since Rainbow Six 2 for PC, I highly recommend the one for PS3. Great fun, great action, easy controls. Multiplayer is a lot of fun too.

3. Rainbow Six is pretty good. It looks horrible at 1080i or p! Set display settings to 720p before playing.

The Darkness is awesome. I'm in the US and the demo is useless. Many have already bought the game and have beaten it by now. It has one of the best storylines on PS3 right now, and a really cool gameplay element called The Darkness. The Darklings are mostly annoying because they don't always seek out their objective; eliminating light sources, killing enemies, etc.

I'm tired of video downloads. Aren't you?

4. Where are the US demos and where is our updated firmware? If they really showed 1.90 at E3...why haven't we gotten it yet?

5. Ahaha, now the US people are starting to complain? Seems no matter what, people will never be happy! Well I guess that’s a no-brainer.

6. my local gameshop (Gamemania) already started selling The Darkness today..it was even out fr rent as of today but som b*stard got it be4 me :( and i didnt have 64€ to buy it.. short by 20€ oh well..gnna try the demo.. :)

7. US Store hasn't been updated yet, but it will be soon.

Usually, around 3pm it gets updated here.

Personally, i'm glad our brothers in the UK are getting some attention from Sony. They tend to get the shaft quite a bit.

What's really ironic, is that the Japanese are *REALLY getting the short end of the stick, in that their store is very rarely updated.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a Heavenly Sword demo here in the US, since The Darkness has already launched here (I beat it, and don't care much for a demo *NOW. Where was the demo before the game launched? It's a great game).

8. Demo played well. I wasn't impressed with the speed of the aiming at the start but you get used to it. Loved the use of powers. In fact the atmosphere was intense on the demo. I like the story to it, dialogue, objectives etc it works well. I am however in two minds as to whether purchase it. Probably will when I've got a free weekend or something. Grateful for a demo at last.

9. Nick Kosmides.. i dunno whats wrong with your tv but it looks 100% beautiful on my 60 inch hitachi ultravision! I played the PC version also, honestly I do notice some things I do NOT like about the ps3 version:

dark areas are darker, almost annoyingly dark

and

there is no background music in the casinos

but having the co-op multiplayer mode is a blast
