The screenshots released for this game are, well, only impressive to those actually looking for an SRPG. Two of the screens are admittedly throwaways, but one gives you the opportunity to see what to expect. The layout of the game seems to be a strange cross between Disgaea and Suikoden Tactics. Since both of those games were fantastic, we're not going to pass judgment on this game yet. We do wonder how much titles like these benefit from the move onto Blu-ray and HD gaming, though.

I love tactics games. I suck at chess but I'm generally good at stuff like this. I hope Squeenix gives us another FF:Tactics for the PS3. Don't worry about making it beautiful, the first one looked like dried-up dookie, just make the gameplay rock.

I'm sure it'll have the same benefits Disgaea had for being on the PS2 instead of the ps1. That is to say, none. Well, maybe it allowed for higher-res character shots during "cut-scenes". Now we can have HD still pictures during the dialog portions... yummy.
And something people tend to forget, is there is one big benefit to releasing a game on a new system that's not made it big yet - reduced competition. They really don't have to compete with the massive flood of ps2 rpgs, any ps3 owner that's collecting those is going to make a point to pick up a ps3 game that fits in their favorite genre, even if it's a game they might overlook if it came out on the ps2. Face it, a lot of us are looking to justify our purchase, and for me, justification comes in the form of jrpgs.
And if it's half as awesome as Sakura Taisen, I'll be thrilled (assuming it ever gets translated, argh).

I went to the site and saw maids... Now I GOTTA get this game!
On a more serious note, how do we know this can't be released in a dvd or (shudder) cd format? O_o
OK! Forget I said that!...
