Eye of Judgment set looks uber-nerdy, uber-awesome

User Shin-Ra at the PS3Forums has stumbled upon the entire package of the upcoming PlayStation Eye game, Eye of Judgment. Now sporting the subtitle Biolith Rebellion, the set comes with the PS-Eye, stand, card mat and starter deck all in addition to the game itself. While you might be thinking "wow, that's a lot of stuff ... it's probably really expensive," you'd be surprised to learn that the cost for all of this is only around 10,000 yen. If you translate that into US dollars, it's around $80. Around there. We think it's a great deal, especially for the innovative technology you'll be investing in!

1. Wow that's a damn good deal considering the PS eye comes with it, which will probably retail for about half that anyways. I think I will pick this up, should be fun to play with friends and the PS eye is something I've been interested in for a while anyways.

2. Sorry I am not interested at all. Card games just don't do it for me anymore.

3. This is a must have for me. A PS Eye and a cool ever expanding card game I can play with my 5 year old. Screw Yu-gi-oh....gimmie Judgement.

Why Sony does not get props for yet another completly innovative title is beyond me.

4. i was never interested in the eyetoy, but I think this sold me on the ps-eye, looks cool and its not expensive at all. i was afraid that the ps-eye alone was going to be like $50 when i first read about it, so this sounds reasonable to me.

5. i'm in no mood to get into another game,

give us one that works with Yu-gi-oh, or at least a main-stream popular game. that itself can easily sell a million console.

6. 80$ is a steal for this. This card game is gonna be better than Yu-go-oh crap or other mainstream games.
Change is a good thing, and this is a great change in the genre!

7. so why come to this story, Andy?

i mean seriously, i don't like Halo, so i don't go to the Halo boards just to say how much i don't like Halo to all the Halo fans.

do you really enjoy commenting on things you have no interest in?

i swear. makes no damn sense at all...

8. oh yeah, and about the actual topic, that sounds like a great deal.

i've been interested in this game for a while, and i'm really interested in the PS Eye, so that's perfect.

as an aside, me and my buds have plans for the PS Eye:

we love to play D&D, but some of my friends live out of town, so we can't get together. since the PS3 supports video chat with up to about 4 people (maybe more, i don't know), me and my buds are going to have video conferenced D&D sessions when they're not in town, using the PS3 and the camera.

9. Are the cards meant to be collectable.. ie. buy a really rare and powerful card to get the upper hand (i suspect they want to make money off selling the cards as well).... i mean, you could just photocopy a high ranking card.

Posted at 5:00PM on Jul 8th 2007 by humpty

10. yeah the online feature it's extremely impressive.. i guess in order for people not to cheat you would probably have to register the 5 or 10 cards you picked before the game starts so that there's no cheating..

if you try to use a card you didn't register b4 the game started, the game won't let you use it.. any other ideas??

11. "do you really enjoy commenting on things you have no interest in?"

Good point.

12. @9.. i could be totally wrong but i believe the card has some type of chip inside, and that's how the "MAT" recognizes it..

Posted at 5:03PM on Jul 8th 2007 by BulletToothTony

13. There is a bar-code on each card, that is how the Eye recognizes it. The potential for innovation (sorry Nintendo) with the Eye is exciting. If this game takes off (which I beleive it will) then alot more developers will copy this.

14. I guess it is a assumed that the Eye stand comes with it too? That never seems to be mentioned in any write-up i see about the game. But it always seems to be a major element to making this game work, even though the stand seemed to have changed numerous times since we first saw the game.

15. I believe Yu-Gi-Oh cards also have a barcode there. (or just unique numbers), So it's do-able, find out which idiot company owns the license and force them to make a game for this. :)

16. That does sound like a good deal I was expecting the Eye to be around 100 some.

18. I don't play card games...Can't say I ever have unless your talking about Poker. Although this game intrigues me and I am actually excited about it. I have predicted this game to be the sleeper hit of the year and it will actually age like a fine wine by getting more and more popular as time goes on. This could actually be a big long term PS3 seller. Props for the great innovation Sony and keep up the good work...

19. This technology has so much potential, I really, really hope other devs do stuff like this. Imagine playing some kinda tactical tank battle game or something and actually moving little tanks and groups of soldiers on a board. It sounds like some true WW2 war room game.

I might buy this just for the cool factor. If it hits US shores for $80, it'll be even more tempting.

20. I'm just wondering if anyone knows how long the PS-Eye cord will be? I really wouldn't want to sit right underneath the tv playing this game. It would be hard to see! (Here's to hoping that at least 6 feet of cord is given to this awesome piece of tech!) =)
