Kojima Productions announces new MGS4 trailer at E3

This post serves as a sort of double-whammy. A really cool new trailer of Metal Gear Solid 4, rumored to be voiced in English, will appear at E3. This trailer will appear at the "Sony and Konami Conference" portion of the Electronic Entertainment Expo. This will probably be the only place MGS4 will pop up, so, sorry 360 owners, but we don't think you'll get that MGS4 on 360 announcement just yet.

The trailer is, as we've said, supposedly voiced in English, but also will detail an entirely new environment. We'd been wondering when Snake and the gang would get out of the dismal, cow-robot overrun city. Chances are, though, it won't be horribly different from what we've already seen. It's rare that Kojima and crew show off later parts of a game before the release, but we might get a glimpse of what to expect. Perhaps something a little more futuristic than a middle-eastern city? Like ... a space station! That'd be a change.

[Thanks, TheGuy!]

4. Is it just me or is it exceedingly difficult to imagine David Hayter's voice pitched to sound like an old man? Hayter's a pretty versatile voice actor, but I can't imagine him doing an old man's voice.

5. only for the Sony and Konami Conference? Then it still sounds like this game is still not going to the 360, which is good news.

6. Woah woah..."Perhaps something a little more futuristic than a middle-eastern city?"

You're not implying that middle-eastern cities lack infrastructure, are you?

7. Cant wait to see this, cant wait to hear Hayter's voice, cant wait to laugh until its released since its going to be PS3 only. Either that or Hideo will announce "A version running in 480i at 13-15fps and no physics will be released in 2 years for the 360" =D

Posted at 2:51PM on Jul 5th 2007 by Toby

8. Hayter gave a preview of the voice in a podcast a while back. He does it. And he does it well.

9. I don't understand how the perception that they won't announce it on 360 is "good news". I'm sorry, I thought we were gamers, not corporate cult leaders. The more people to get this game, the better. I have a PS3 and will most likely buy MGS4 for it, but I wouldn't want Konami or Kojima Productions to go out of business because of some cronyistic loyalty to a company that's in 3rd place in installed base.

So what are you gonna do if Konami announces MGS4 for 360? Boycott Konami? Start an online petition?

Our $600 may have bought us a great system, but it's not worth selling your soul to Sony (nor to MS and Nintendo. Heck, not even to Apple or any other company).

As much as you would like it to happen, your PS3 will never reciprocate the love you give it.

10. Joe, erm, you're on a blog called 'PS3Fanboy'. Surely this might imply a little bias?

12. Joe A, no offence but whats the point of leaving a comment like that on a website called PS3fanboy? I've read and heard comments like that a thousand times before. "OMGZ, we're gamers man! GOd of wAr on the Wii is a good thing for eVerybody!" blah blah blah, you know playing goody two shoes or "acting" like the better man. Seriously its begining to get a bit annoying. What your basically asking for is to argue with us Fanboys because what other reason would post something like that on here? I rest my case. I have to wonder though if Xbox360 fanboy gets comments like that when talk about splinter cell or bioshock?

13. @11

Yes we are gamers, but if you want to create a install base, you need the games to sell, especially the exclusive ones, the PS3 is suffering from this right now, everytime a game goes multi, people are going to buy the cheaper system, look at GTA IV, now that the game has DLC exclusively for the 360, people are going to buy a 360, thats why Im saying its a good news for Sony and the PS3.

14. "Either that or Hideo will announce "A version running in 480i at 13-15fps and no physics will be released in 2 years for the 360" =D"

I don't mean to ruin your parade but I read an article that Madden 08 for 360 will run at 60fps while on PS3 it will run at 30fps. The 360 is a fine system but I want free online!!!

I love my PS3 and all but the way things are going you just sound like an idiot. Sorry for being harsh.

15. "I don't mean to ruin your parade but I read an article that Madden 08 for 360 will run at 60fps while on PS3 it will run at 30fps."

Is it because PS3 is doing it at 1080p while 360 is doing it at 720p?

Posted at 6:00PM on Jul 5th 2007 by J_Swayze

16. lol Joe, check this article out:

http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2007/07/04/tretton-sony-doesnt-bribe-for-exclusives/

Read those comments in there and you shall find your exclusive war inside flare up. Or not actually. *shruggs* person to person.

17. "Is it because PS3 is doing it at 1080p while 360 is doing it at 720p?"

Really?

Madden 08 at 1080p. Too bad I have a 23 inch SDTV. I am working towards a 1080p but I am in no hurry because most games only go up to 720p.

18. ewwwwww David Hayter was sooooo bad I never liked how he sounded. Snake just gets cheeser and cheeser every game, and in snake eater i just couldn't stand when he said, "Commencing Virtuous Mission NoW."

Bleh not looking forward to it, at least the rest of the game makes up for it.

19. i was just jokin around when i said about the 360 version runnin like that. And as far as madden goes, some other xboxfanboy was in where saying the same thing and we explained to him why the 360 version runs better. MGS4 needs to stay exclusive so that Sony can push some more consoles out, not so we can deprive M$ people of the game.

20. Good news! Dont say sorry to 360 owners screw them they can go get there own exlcusives. Kojima stated it wont come to 360. 360 not powerful enough.
