After numerous delays the Resistance: Fall of Man update is finally here. While the full patch notes are too long for us to put here, you will see them before you get updating. In order to update the game, simply load up the online multiplayer menu. The game will then offer to update (you have to do so in order to play online). Once this is done, you will be able to play against any other players anywhere in the world. You may also notice that the online multiplayer has changed. There is a new "purchase" button. From here you can buy the two new maps.
Interestingly, the game is able to access the PSN Store directly, switching from the Resistance purchase menu to the store checkout seamlessly. As well as this, there is now an option in the online multiplayer menu to access your friends list without leaving the game. This allows you to do anything you can do from the friends list section of the XMB, including messaging. While this can only be reached from the menu, so no in-match access, it is still one step closer to our dreams of having in-game XMB access.
So get updating. The wait is finally over!

So has anyone got into it yet?
If it easier I am happy playing against my region only. To be honest I had a feeling this would happen.
I am glad I am not the only one because I have had some problems with my wireless. DO NOT GET A D-LINK I HAVE EXPERIENCED FIRST HAND THAT THEY SUCK!

I also use wireless but i don't believe this is the problem because i've tried a internet cable. Expect there to be another patch to fix this stupid error soon

Calm down a little. Everything is going to be work out in the end.
I did get to the new features read where it said You can now listen to chat through your tv if you don't have a mic. Can you turn this off if you want? (or mute certain people)

I been in a couple of times and the new maps are nice. I've already seen some Japan vs. Us games going so that should be interesting. Both maps are huge and Snipers will love camborne its raining off and on and there are some dark spots u can camp out at. Westmorland is really big and its snowing so the camo outfit will work great with that one. The one thing about Westmorland is that its tunnel system looks almost like the space station tunnels in killzone.

Do people actually camp in this game and use strategy?
I seem to be top or near top every ranked match i play but it's really just run and gun stuff, shoot or be shot.
Maybe i'm playing the wrong game type.

Too be honest I do not really care. I used to rent every single new sports game available but I have gotten bored.
If you put them side by side I probably wouldn't have a good enough eye to notice the difference?
But for those that can you might as well go with the 360 version. WHEN WILL DEV'S REALIZE ITS EASIER TO PORT FROM PS3 TO 360?

@ElwoodJD,
First, "We have already proven that sports titles can run on the PlayStation 3 at true HD with 1080p output with NBA 07," says it pretty well. NGS running at 60fps at 1080p also sort of makes one question "why can't you get it your men in tights to run into each other at 60 fps?"
Second, the sort of people who drive the sales of games like Madden year after year after year after... aren't the sort of people who are paying attention to which system has the better framerate. They are the ones who pay attention to the year at the end of the title, after a few seconds realize it's one higher than they had to count to last time they picked up a football game, and then they purchase it for whatever system they own.
Third, there is a "Send us news tips" link on this page. If you want your news to be ignored properly, you should really click it. Posting it in a completely unrelated topic is just going to end with me calling you a troll.
