1. I think 2 years is plenty time to develop Killzone 2. Their team has over 100 people which is defiantly enough to finish a game in time for this holiday rush.

Even if the majority of the team worked on Killzone PSP they are finished that game and work on Killzone 2.

I hope this is true. Especially if Sony puts Killzone 2 up against Halo 3 on the same day. Halo 3 will probably win but Killzone 2 will force people to open their eyes and spend a weeks wages on a quality product.

3. This rumor was debunked a few months back...

"Obviously, this kicked off a firestorm of discussion and controversy, primarily because it would mean the game would be going head-to-head with Halo 3 that month. It makes little sense from a business perspective, so we were all wondering what Guerilla was thinking. Well, it appears they were never thinking about a September release date.

Seb "motherH" of Guerilla Games has promptly shot down the erroneous date:

"That is incorrect. I don’t know why they would think this. Killzone for PS3 is not being released at that time.""

I read it somewhere and it came up in the PS forums again today.

Have you noticed that games either go really quiet all through devolopment(like Killzone 2) and get hyped because people want to see some real footage.

5. Like other poster's have said this is fake and is false. I for one see this game coming out next year. Plus there was the talk with Sony and Ubisoft about bringing out Haze in November to fight against Halo on the 360. So why would Sony want to fight there own game if Haze and Killzone come out at the same time.

I do think September will be the month when the Beta starts though. Plus I for one think this year it is Halo's time to shine then next year. Sony can bring out there Killzone. Plus Socom is to be coming out soon. So there reeally is no need for all the shooters this year. I for one think that it would be best to come out next year seeing seeing as there will be many great games that will be coming out soon.

So I for one do not want all the games at the same time. I would much prefer to see to get some games now then some later next year.

So like I said this most likely will only be the beta and the real game next year. Which I think will be best.

10. I just posted this in another thread, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to bring it up here too:

I hate to be the pessimist, but I don't think we should get our hopes too high for Killzone 2 - it was shown privately at GDC in March and while no one was allowed to talk about it, the guys at IGN unofficially said that it was pretty disappointing, and the graphics aren't anything special, and certainly aren't anywhere as close as the E3 2005 trailer. Now, four months will have passed by the time they show us at E3, but I'm doubtful that they've managed to make THAT much progress...

Yeah only what they showed was an In-engine demo of playstation edge (which is being used in Killzone) it wasn't killzone 2 though man. The big theory is that they showed that to get everyone unhyped about it, then they'd show an unbelievable Killzone 2 at E3 and blow everyones minds and expectations out the window. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

13. Stef, the version shown at GDC was not meant to be a true preview of the game. It was more of a "trailer" for the Edge software, not Killzone.

"The purpose of this clip is to show you the technology, not the game," Harrison said before rolling the footage. PlayStation Edge has two major components. The first is GCM Replay, an "incredibly powerful, RSX profiling tool" to help designers "get maximum performance" out of the PS3's GPU. Second is a suite of "lightweight, optimized libraries" to help developers take advantage of SPU geometry processes like animation and compression using the console's powerful Cell processor.

14. Deathhalo & mccomber: Hey, how 'bout that! That's really good news. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. Not sure Sony would ever want to downplay (even temporarily) the game, but if what was shown wasn't really what KZ2 will look like, then... I'm seriously stoked all over again. I'm going to try to remain optimistic and tell myself that they've kept the game hidden for two years because they want to blow us away by showing off the engine by re-creating the trailer in gameplay (what else could possibly be as impressive?).

17. Sonys Phil Harrison stated that the footage shown was not that of the game Stef. He repeated over and over that what they were watching was only a demo of physics that could be used with the engine being displayed. Do you really think they would display Killzone and knowone would talk about it. Go read some IGN and find out for yourself.

18. I HAVE read all the IGN material on KZ2. Actually, the only time I've seen them commenting on KZ2 not being very impressive was in this big GDC summary video. If the demo really wasn't KZ2, Sony sure has a lot of people (including the media) fooled.
