This week's crazy Japanese ads

The Japanese sure have crazy advertisements. Our favorite this week? The ad for FolksSoul (aka Folklore). The newly released demo highlights the title's unique SIXAXIS controls, where shaking your control can suck the soul out of a monster. But, what happens when that concept becomes too real? Check out this commercial, and a strange Ninja Gaiden Sigma ad, after the cut.

Our next ad is promoting the upcoming release of Ninja Gaiden Sigma. We don't really understand who they're targeting with an ad like this ...

2. The folksoul one is pretty good, reminds me of the Ratchet & Clank ones we see here for some reason. The second looks like it's cut from a longer one, which probably has a bit more "story" to it. Probably also makes sense if you understand what the guy is saying to the girl, and who that girl is...

4. That Folklore ad was pretty neat :D The Ninja Gaiden one sucked tho.

5. At least those ads are better than the "This is Living" PS3 advertisements in Europe, and half the PS3 ads we got in North America. I still get creeped-out from the freaky baby commercial.

6. I kinda like these adverts, especially the Folksoul one. They are not as weird as other PS3 related ads i've seen.
With these two games in June, this could be PS3's best month in Japan until the big 2 come out.

7. Mmm hot leah dizon in the sigma trailer...

8. The Ninja Gaiden Sigma one is awesome! Now everytime I play my PS3 I'm gonna remember that hot chick. And there's a ninja waiting in line to play a ninja game, lol.

Please never post here again. Because if you actually owned a ps3 you would know that you rarely notice the lack of rumble, that there are way more decent games ninja gaiden sigma that are already out and are coming out. Instead you post about how "dissappointed" you would be if you owned a ps3 right now. Anyone who lets a simple commercial (like the first ps3 one) discourage them from buying something should seriously let their mother buy their stuff for them instead...

10. "it is an overpriced blu-ray movie player"

It is actually the cheapest blu-ray player on the market by about $400. You have probably never seen how spectacular it looks on a HD 1080p TV.

Rumble wastes battery and would fuck up the motion sensor, even if Sony puts rumble into their games I will just turn it off.

"with games that are programmed better for the Pc and 360"
Thats actually true. Once game studios realize its easier to port from PS3 to 360 games will be the same.

This commercial is much better.(its on the upperight)

12. If Sony could air those commercials to the general public they could get 1000s more PS3 sales.

Posted at 3:55PM on Jun 2nd 2007 by massive_98

13. Lol, this won't get me to buy a ps3, just yet.

Maybe Sony should take a page from the Simpsons and say that "Hot women will have sex in your backyard"

(sorry, couldn't find the clip"

14. @10

Damn thats a sweet commercial. It made me want to run out and buy a PS3 right now, too bad I'm still broke and can't afford one yet. See, if Sony put forth more commercials like that (hell, maby just more commercials in general, I don't see that many) then maby their sales will pick up. I especially like how they were promoting the non-game aspects of the system. I'm still worried about the blue-ray player burning out like my current PS2's DVD playing ability did. Are their any early indications as to whether Sony made bad hardware again or is the PS3 holding up well?

Oh and so that this isn't totally off topic, I thought the first video was really funny, I just wish I knew what they were saying to each other. And the second video looks like a lot of US commercials, ooh, she's hot, wait, what are they selling again????

Not that I'm complaining mind you :)

And for those ppl who love to argue off topic I'll leave you with this, I love the Wii for the fun party games, will definitly buy a PS3 for the more hardcore games when I can afford it, and I have nothing but hate for the XBox, MS should stay out of the hardware buissness and spend the money fixing Windows. There I said it.
