Deal of the day: PS3 + game + HDMI cable = £399.85

Want to save some money on a new PS3? Of course you do. 'Itz 2 expensif!!11' is the most common complaint we hear from would-be PS3 owners. Well fear not, because have three great deals going on their website right now. Unfortunately they're only available for people in the UK. The deals are as follows:
  • PS3 60GB + Resistance: Fall of Man + HDMI cable = £399.85
  • PS3 60GB + Resistance: Fall of Man + Motorstorm + HDMI cable = £425.03
  • PS3 60GB + Resistance: Fall of Man + Motorstorm + Formula 1 + HDMI cable = £439.80
Not a bad few deals. Still more expensive than America, yes, but that's never going to change. A free game and cable for under the RRP of the console is nothing to sniff at. To top it off are offering free delivery for the bank holiday weekend, so get your skates on and order before tuseday.

1. Thats one sweet deal! Esp the second one because you get the two killer titles out now plus the HDMI cable for free.
I wonder how much margin they get on this stuff, whats the catch here?

3. in Futureshop here in Canada. here's the PS3 deal

PS3 + F1 Championship (game) + 2 Blu-Ray DVD of your choice (probably two Pirate movies) = regular ps3 price

pretty sweet too, but F1 Championship sucks

4. KingofWale. Actually the deal is 699.99 and you get F1 and 1 of 2 movies (the two pirate movies) on Blu-Ray

a deal, but nothing really special considering we are paying 650USD for it. EBgames though still has the 40$ "savings" MSRP price listed of 659.99.

5. did you read the website, Draco? here's what the title is

"PlayStation 3 Bundle with F1: Championship Edition (PS3) and your choice of 2 Blu-Ray DVDs"

Posted at 11:27AM on May 27th 2007 by kingofwale

6. F1 Campionship is one of the best looking games for the PS3. Pretty fun but no Motorstorm.

Posted at 11:44AM on May 27th 2007 by massive_98

7. @kingofwale

Just like your idiotic comment about F1 being a bad game, so is the deal you posted. You get to only choose 1 Blu-ray movie. It's a web site error. Don't believe me? Try and add both movies and see what happens.

8. Breeze is correct. Saw the deal in futureshop.

9. In America, you can get a free wireless controller with the purchase of a PS3 at Circuit City.. Its in todays add.

Posted at 1:12PM on May 27th 2007 by 3cubedminus3squared

10. Gamespot has/had a pretty nice deal as well.

$100 off PlayStation3 60GB with trade in of PS2!

Trade in a PS2, a 2nd Sony brand PS2 Controller, 1 PS2 8 meg memory card (any brand) towards the purchase of a PS3 System 60GB and receive $100 trade credit. (PS3 60GB for $499.99)

Expires: 05/27/07. Offer not good on cash trades. Trades must be in full working condition to receive full value. Cannot be combined with any other offer. PS2 System trade must include controller, AV cable & power cord. Trade-ins subject to manager approval. Playstation 3 systems subject to availablility by location. See store associate for details. No dealers. No Rainchecks.

11. "What the catch?"

Well I can't be too sure but I think the price shown is excluding VAT (tax). The actual price you'd pay is around £460-70 for the system, one game and a HDMI cable. Putting it like that doesn't make it sound so good anymore. has a better deal: the system+a HDMI cable+ a blu ray film (Click) for £399 which includes VAT so £399 is all you pay.

12. Or got to the shop up the high street and get a ps3 and a game for £350, or is that just me?
