Sony has announced that tonight they are releasing the SOE remake of the arcade classic,
Rampage World Tour, through the North American PLAYSTATION Store. Priced at the standard rate of a mere $4.99, the downloadable title allows you to play as any of the three classic
Rampage characters as you tear down skyscapers and generally terrorize the city. The game also offers multiplayer action for up to three people, online or local - no word on if it supports voice chat though.
I'm pretty stoked about this title myself. I liked
Mortal Kombat II a lot, but
Gauntlet II was kind of lacking in the fun department.
Rampage looks solid though, graphics held up surprisingly well and something about the simple, destructive nature of the gameplay of the original always entertained me.

Maybe I'm just a cheap SOB but why not just play these old games for free from Midway's site.

I'll save my money for new games.

@1: Can you play those games with more than one person? Can you play them on your big TV? Can you use a nice console controller instead of the keyboard?
There's plenty of justification for people to pay a mere five bucks for these games.

That's it! They just had gamers day. There are ton of videos and people got to play demos out there. Why can't we get some vids and demos today. 360 did it with "Bringing it home". They had tons of stuff from the last E3. I love my PS3, but they really need to stop feeding us this crap (old ps1 games and forgot 8 bit games) I own a 60" Sony SXRD 1080p and I want to see some mind blownin graphics! Sony, I am a loyal customer. All my TVs in the house are Sony, including my Surround system, radios, and other various electronics (even my frickin alarm clock). Sony, step it up, cause Xbox has a mad crazy head start.

@Enon
Why would they need to do anything you want? You're going to buy their products regardless. Being a "loyal" customer doesn't get you what you want, keeping your hard earned money in your pockets until a company earns it gets you what you want.
I don't own a 360, but you gotta admit Microsoft is trying a lot harder because they have a lot of minds to win over and bring to their side.

That firmware story definitely burned a lot of ps3 owners. I will admit I checked for a new firmware at least 3 times since I heard that story. Very disappointing.
You'd think a company as big as Sony would know how to manage their PR a bit better, if the firmware wasn't true they should have came out and said "this is not true and won't be coming out." Instead we get vague double-speak from Sony so nobody knows what the hell their plans are.

I know what you mean.
people try to justify it by the fact that is free but in my opinion, the bottom line is that it is nowhere near the content the 360 is pumping out. If a mere 10cents a day (or whatever live cost) gets you all that content then I would be willing (not really, I am cheap) to pay that for the PS store if they got out some good content more frequently.
I am sure it will get better overtime, and as long as is free, the complaints will never be that many, but they better step it up, and soon.
I hope today's update shuts me up, although I doubt it. Oh, and by the way enon777 save your words, cause sony ain't listening. they don't care if you have bought all their crap, you are just one more consumer in a pool of millions. thats why I just kind of contribute what is on my mind, and not just bitch about how dedicated I am to something. If I told you I've had all the sony consoles since day one (which I have)would you really care? would they let me join the Home beta? I think not.
Shoot only reason I post stuff this long is to practice my crappy writing skillz.

Fine, I'll be the one to admit it. I would probably buy Rampage World Tour for $5. There are very few never-been-changed games that I would buy, but I'm a Rampage lover. Of course the PS3 I play isn't mine, so I have to talk my friend into purchasing it.

You mean the firmware story that reported on a rumour? Yeah, they burned the hell out of us by not fulfilling the promises of a random person on the internet. Their no-comment probably means an update along those lines is planned in the future, but checking constantly for an update Sony didn't say was coming and feeling let-down when it's not there?
Oh yeah, the story... Rampage is an OK game, I played the hell out of in the arcade back in the day. Might be worth $5 with online play, but I'm not jumping on it quite yet. One of those that might not translate to a home title in the year 2007, I know MK2 didn't exactly hold my interest like it did way back when.
