In a strange event that even made us go "wow, really?" we learned that a weekly "what product do you most want?" poll thing over at CNet, the PlayStation 3 is currently the number one most desired product. It was at the number 5 slot last week, but it jumped up four positions for some reason. Maybe a number of positive press releases appeared, who knows.While this is interesting to note and all, seriously, the PS3 garnering more "want" than the Wii? We have our opinions about the two consoles, but the public outcry for the Wii is definitely a lot louder than our favorite Sony product. Both are beating out the 360 Elite, which we also have our own opinion on... thanks to Dave Karraker, we guess. Anyway, hooray for the PS3 catching the top of a wanted list for a week! It's a small accomplishment, but we know that people out there do, indeed, want the system.

PS3 has always been top 3 since launch, Iphone took over for a bit, PS3 slipped to 5th last week with Wii being first.
and now it jumped 4 spots. hmmm, no idea how did that happen, maybe it's the whole "Home" and Folding@Home publicity

Well... lots of people do want one, they just don't want to pay for one. This is definitely a system where reaching that tipping point for price will be huge, as long as they do it before people decide to go ahead and get a 360 instead.

Simple if you do your homework Nicky:
1. Gamepro's Heavenly Sword and PS3 strikes back (or sony strikes back) feature
2. GTA 4 (its going to be out on the ps3 first, this is an instant gratification nation)
3. Game Informers Home feature (for those who dont read blogs and do thier gaming news via the friend network this helps spread the word)
4. God of War 2 probably scared alot of people into thinking kratos would do his thing on them should they not get a ps3
5. Blu-ray is winning.

Anyway, whackmushrooms, you're talking out of your ass. GTAIV is NOT going to be a timed exclusive or anything like that. Hell, the 360's development is probably further ahead than the PS3's, since they likely started with the hardware they had first. Regardless, they're almost definitely going to launch October 14th. Just pray to god that we don't get a lousy port yet again.

This makes sense. Most people can't afford this baby but they wish one. And also talking about human behavior people always complaints about thing because they are jalousie about it or they really want it. I have the main 3 console on the market. In my opinion all of them are great products and I have no complaints about them. All of them have different targets. My ps3 took out the best of my HDTV Plasma and my THX multimedia center and also have excellent graphics, not to much variety of games but “come on!” give them a break it just been about 6 month on the market. For my Xbox have more games and excellent graphics and better online experience. My WII are for my kids and my wife. So I don’t see why that much trash talking about it. This only means one thing. Stupid PR combined with moron’s PR eater. If you don’t want something don’t buy it simple as that. And don’t be a PR jerky junky feeder that just has space for junky PR on his brain.

Moving on, if Sony has always been Rockstar's bread and butter, then why did they bother porting the PS2 versions to Xbox and PC AS SOON AS THEY WERE LEGALLY ALLOWED TO? Also, wasn't San Andreas released on both systems at the same time? Software publishers don't have these loyalties that ignorant fanboys like you believe in. They want to sell to the highest number of people, and you can't fault them for it.

It is no secret or new news that GTA 4 is coming out on both the PS3 and Xbox on October 16th. It will not be a console exclusive. But we do know that the 360 version will have exclusive content available via downloads on Xbox Live. That's not to say that the PS3 won't have some sort of exclusive content as well.
But GTA 4 will indeed play on a $299 Xbox 360 just as it will on a $600 PS3. Does anyone want to guess wich platform will sell more copies of GTA4???

Actually, I believe San Andreas was released on the PS2 first. I remember because it was also competeing against Halo 2. It was basically viewed as a PS2 vs. Xbox competition. I believe San Andreas won. It was later ported to the Xbox, though.
