21. walmart has sonic for $40, decent price for a ps3 game. Too bad Resistance and Genji can't follow that price.

22. - Resistance: Fall of Man.
- The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

23. This is it? Sony calls this a launch? Wow this is pathetic
compared to the Wii lineup. It dosen't even come close. Where are the big titles?

Posted at 12:36AM on Oct 9th 2006 by sonyguy 0 stars

24. The big titles are so far away, twelve months to be exact!

In some way, this so-called launch lineup is even WORSE than that of the PS2 launch.

At least the PS2 launch had the fan favorite Tekken Tag Tournament. This time around, Tekken die hards have nothing to eat at launch.

25. "Here's my launch day shopping list: Oblivion (Can't wait to do an Xbox 360 side-by-side comparison!)"

Alright.. I will be looking forward to that. Not sure truly what that will accomplish, as I can easily compare Splinter Cell on the Xbox to the same game on PS2. Xbox easily outshines the PS2 versions. But, since you want to do a flame war, so be it.

26. so does this mean gran turismo is defintely not gonna be avialable for launch ????

i'll be getting either fall of man or need for speed on launch day but i doubt i'll have the money to buy 2 games after spending 5 or 6 hundred dollars on the consule.

27. When was Heavenly Sword supposed to come out? That and Resistance are the only games (aside from FFXIII) to look forward to so far. Everything else decent will be on the 360.

Project 8? I'll take online support.

Posted at 3:03AM on Oct 9th 2006 by SuicideNinja 0 stars

28. That's it? The game developers have had all this time extra time (after Sony has delayed again, and again), and those are all PS3 buyers are going to be able to pickup and play for the holidays?

Counting only the high quality games (sorry fl0W, etc), all but two is a port from the 360. [Genji, Resistance]

I don't care if you're rooting for the 360 or the PS3, neither fanboy can deny this is a disappointment.

Let look at the cost, as of Dec 2006:
360 ($400) + one extra controller ($25, online) + 3 games ($25 to $30 each, online) = $510 + ~7% tax (38) = *** $548 ***

PS3 ($600) + one extra controller ($50) + 3 games ($180) = $830 + ~7% tax ($60) = *** $890 ***

IMO, the graphics alone aren't worth the extra ~ $350.

[And I'm sure 95% of you are going to have to add $3,000 to the PS3 so you can buy a 1080p television, which will be the only way to see a difference between the PS3 and 360]

PS3 is too rich for my college student blood. With 'just' a 1080i 32 inch TV, I doubt the $$$ difference will be worth it. PS3 obviously isn't going to have a significant difference where it counts, the games.

29. NBA2K7, it's being upgraded for the ps3

Posted at 4:34AM on Oct 9th 2006 by Mikhail Wright 0 stars

30. I'm using Gamefly to take a crack at Resistance & COD 3 before possibly buying them. I'm a little FPS'd out, anyhow.

Aside from another Sixaxis, I'll probably buy either Fight Night Round 3 (boxing fan here), since I can go years between boxing games--unless EA finally puts out a sim-style boxing title, or NBA 2K7, NHL 2K7, or Rainbox Six Vegas.

As far as Blu-Ray movies go, I'll probably rent The Devil's Rejects and Talledaga Nights. I cannot wait until 50GB discs are being released across the board. Hopefully, Warner Brothers' lean towards HD-DVD fades over the Holidays, so The Matrix trilogy & The Sopranos can get the works on blu-ray.

So..one console, one extra controller, one game, and a lot of rentals.

Also..what happened to the PS3 port of Saint's Row?

31. #15 Please dont give us real PS3fanboys a bad name by spitting out a bunch of garbage. As much as I would like to think they waited to get all the bugs out that is not the case, they waited because they couldnt get the parts they needed to get the thing built and here we are almost a month from launch and they just starting producing them in the last few weeks so where is all the testing time on this first run of machines? I am afraid it will be the PSP all over again.

The main problem I have with them is after all this extra time they never came up with a good online plan!! If you are not going to give the rest of us any credibility then just shut up and stop posting!

32. Here's a GREAT QUESTION.........Where the F*** is Motor Storm??????? I'll tell you, DELAYED UNTIL MARCH 07', thanks Sony. Once again they over promise and under deliver. First it was War Hawk and now Motor Storm, what's next Sony Resistence: FoM??? What gives with their first party titles????

Posted at 12:12PM on Oct 9th 2006 by Mr BoomStick XL 0 stars

33. Of course the PS3 launch titles won't be compared to the 360 launch titles...but rather the existing 360 library of titles...which far Trumps what's availabl for the PS3 this fall. That is the importance of a year head start.

Oh and good luck finding a PS3 before March without having to pay $1000 for a bundle.

34. @#30
How nice of you to compare online prices to b&m prices.

360 ($400) + one extra controller ($50, NOT online) + 3 games ($180, NOT online) + HD-DVD addon ($200) = $830 + ~7% tax ($60) = *** $890 ***

PS3 ($600) + one extra controller ($50) + 3 games ($180) = $830 + ~7% tax ($60) = *** $890 ***

you'll probably want to upgrade to a 1080p tv if you want to watch those hd-dvds.

35. First, for all you haters out there, the PS3's price is not that bad considering what you are getting. It's actually cheaper than you think. If the compare the PS-Tre to the Xbox1.5, the PS3 is cheaper.

Xbox360:$400, HD-DVD Drive:$200, Wireless Adapter:$100
Equals:$700(not including tax)

PS3:$600 (plus the HDD you're getting is bigger by 40GBs and HDMI)

Anyway, i'm getting Madden 07, COD3, and mostly like Fight Night 3. "This Is Living"

37. lol, I just saw the video from that picture today.

Posted at 9:46PM on Oct 9th 2006 by _habit_ 0 stars

38. When will some of you guys listen? Have you heard of Blu-Ray? Blu-Ray to DVD is apples to oranges. The games will not be the same on the PS3 as the xbox360 or even the wii.

For Instance:
When Fight Night FINALLY releases, it will be different than the 360 version. Not just because the of the time to develope the game ,but because of the capacity of BLU-RAY and the realism the CELL and RSX brings. You 360 fans can joke and complain all day bout us PS3 fans but i bet $ half you complainers are on your second 360 from it "exploding"! RED LIGHT OF DEATH! HA HA HA!!!

39. Resistance F.o.M. , for sure, Sonic for the kids,
and then wait for more titles in the coming months...

40. On launch day i plan to pick up Gears of War. lol. Sorry to say this but its a much better game than any of the PS3 launch games. I might pick up a PS3 "CONSOLE" one day, but for now my 360 is getting more attention on the PS3 launch day.
