We now have confirmation on a pretty good
pre-order deal being offered by Toys 'R Us. The fun factory is presenting gamers who put up a down payment of $50 with
the 60 GB HDD, two games of your choice and an extra controller. If you're already dead-set on getting this console,
it's not a bad deal for the money. This is one of the first offerings from retail chains on the next-gen console, so
expect a lot more in the coming months. In the meantime though you can check out this site to keep tabs on
other pre-ordering opportunities. If you spot one at another outlet, don't hesitate to let us know!

For what it's worth, during lunch I checked with the Toys R Us in Dallas at Walnut Hill that said no such plan was in place after they did some asking around.

Heck no! That'd be insane to offer the games and controller free. When Toys R Us had PSP bundles, they just tacked on the retail price of the games to the system bundle. I heard that retailers make money off games rather than systems which would make sense for TRU to force games on consumers via newly released system bundles.

I too checked with Toys'R'us in orange county, ca. they guy was very knowledgable and said he had heard of this, but it wasn't true. just a rumor someone made up. he said that his pre-order of the japan PS3 was even pulled because Sony's so far away from having a workable version of PS3. the hundred or so released in tokyo all didn't work the way they were supposed to or burned out customer's tv's. he said that the only version of PS3 that works is their tech version that's humongous. preorders won't be available until sony has a workable version of PS3 and sony gives retail stores the permission to start taking preorders. It was a shame this wasn't true, would've been a good deal...

yeah. i remember when the same thing happened to the 360. the first few actually burst into flames, and fried high definition televisions. the second batch would actually burn your house down, and they caused cancer (scientific fact). then after they got the fire under control, the next batch would actually run from your game room, and kill your cat and/or dog. the xbox team said it was totally their fault due to crappy programming, substandard hardware, and an even worse operating system, and that nobody should buy a 360 because they totally sucked balls. but bill gates decided to sell it anyway.

I put a pre-order on a ps3 over a month ago at a Toys-R-Us up here in Vancouver,B.C., Canada. It is the exact bundle described in the story. They were also taking pre-orders on the revolution as well.

Look on the photo of the voucher and it's in English and French, meaning it's most likely Canada that has the offer on, as #7 states.
I'm not aware of any European Toys R Us stores offering this deal though.

Yeah I noticed the French language on there and assumed that too. Although I still did go check at my local ToysRUs (outside of Chicago) and it wasn't available here either.

Obviously you're a STUPID FANBOI! You should keep you mouth shut about things you know nothing about. If you were a REAL gamer you'd play any system at all and not just be Ken/Sony's bitch. Form a real opinion without someone force feeding theirs to you next time, dip!
